Update and change to rating:

My mom passed away on 5/14/26. While she was still living there I asked about the possibility of doing a celebration of life after she passes away and was told yes. She fell and broke her hip at the independent living facility, and ended up having to move into an assisted living facility. She hung on at the assisted living facility until yesterday (5/14/26). So I reached out to Schuyler, the facility Director to see about setting something up. It took about five days for him to respond at all. He probably would not have responded at all. It took the Champlain going over there physically to ask him to respond to me. He finally responded today 5/15/26, the next day after her passing to tell me and I quote…

“Debbie, I’m so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, at this time we do not do any kind of celebrations for the public. If you were to set something up at an outside location, we may be able to help with transportation for her friends to get there.”

My thoughts are there’s no way I’m going to rely on or trust someone who does not respond for almost a week to get a bunch of elderly people with walkers and wheelchairs over to a celebration of life. Besides he reneged on his original answer.

Original review was five stars mostly because she loved it there and the residents loved my mother.

The residents and most of the staff create an atmosphere that is priceless. My mother moved into her room back in January and I had my concerns at first but my mom is very happy now. She hated it at first because it was a big change for her but now she has the best of friends which makes a world of difference.

Recently she suffered a stroke and I believe she is still here today due to the quick thinking and help from her friends at Madison Meadows, One of them caught her before she fell to the ground.

The picture I am sharing is of my mom dancing during one of the activities there. This was taken AFTER her stroke.

I toured this community with my mother. The people are the nicest and my mom immediately made friends! The apartment was sparkling new and very accommodating. We were impressed by the roomy bathroom with many grab bars for her. The grounds are peaceful. The staff went out of their way to make eye contact and warmly greet us. Mom had lunch and enjoyed the cuisine. She sampled some other activities and couldn't wait to move in. Sadly, Mom fell and was unable to move from her home in NJ but she hopes to be on the mend and move in soon. Highly recommend Madison Meadows. Hilary is so kind, gracious and terrific to work with.

The staff here are wonderful — attentive, kind, and clearly committed to the residents.

That said, the facility could use a bit of TLC. The common areas currently feel more like an empty event hall than a comfortable residential environment. Adding simple touches like fresh flowers, art, and relaxing background music could make the space feel much more welcoming and home-like.

Healthier food options would also be a welcome improvement.

An elderly friend lives here, so I appreciate the care provided by the staff and hope the environment continues to evolve into a warmer, more comfortable place for residents.

I have lived here for 16 months and I love it here.. we have a great community of veterans with lots of activities to keep us busy and entertained. The staff and management here are professional and very caring towards the residence.. we have a heated swimming pool..... A weight lifting exercise room.. they provide three meals a day with a professional chef that provides a fine dining experience. Call and ask for Hillary and she will give you a tour.
