About Lakes at Lutz

Lakes at Lutz is a skilled nursing and long-term care community in Lutz, Florida, with a licensed capacity of 120 residents. The facility provides rehabilitation and ongoing care for adults recovering from injury or managing complex medical needs.

Families consistently praise individual staff members for their attentiveness and compassion. One family noted that a relative "has been very impressed with the excellent care that he's received compared to any other place he's ever been." Cleanliness and the physical environment are highlighted as strengths. However, reviews also surface gaps in responsiveness: some families report extended waits when calling for assistance, ranging from hours to receive water or help with toileting, and occasional lapses in basic care routines, such as delayed bathing and delayed repairs to room climate control.

Staff members including Julio, Swayma, Liz, Kyla, and Sanusi are named by families for going above and beyond, suggesting that quality of care can vary depending on which team members are involved in a resident's day-to-day support.

Lakes at Lutz holds a 3.9 out of 5 Google rating based on 402 reviews, reflecting a mixed but generally positive experience where personal attention from certain staff members often compensates for systemic response-time challenges.

My mother was sent here from the ER, she tore the ligaments in her ankle. Sanusi (not sure that is spelled correctly) was very kind and patient with my mother. Kyla in social services is kind and informative. Facility appears clean. My mother did not receive a shower for 8 days, neither did her roommate. The AC was not working in her room for 3 days (which they reported multiple times); she has COPD and had to ask for a concentrator to breathe. Maintenance came in and fixed the problem quickly.

My experience with my dad was mostly positive. Most of the staff were attentive and helpful. Liz was especially helpful and took time to manage my dad’s care and answer all of the questions we had. If it wasn’t for Liz, I don’t know what we would have done! Thank you for your care and understanding during a difficult time. Your personal attention allowed us to trust a process that was unfamiliar to us!

My father was well taken care of during his 3 month stay. Special props to Julio and Swayma for their personal and warm care. They really seem to go above and beyond. We would have given 5 stars instead of 4 if the response was quicker whenever my father rang the bell for assistance. Sometimes it took hours just to get water and also took too long when he needed assistance to go to the bathroom which resulted in accidents on a number of occasions. The facility is super clean and nice.
