The level of incompetence of the nursing care left me speechless. My dying father was there temporarily but upon witnessing the staff working there we could not get my father out fast enough. Upon entering all you see are empty desk and halls. When you have an 88 year old man in the active stages of dying and the nurse takes it upon herself to give her less than caring and medically uniformed opinions to a patient then that suggest a lot more education needs to be taught to your staff. When a man who is barely awake and only comes to when his pain in severe, a callous nurse says, "it's not time for your medicine and of course it hurts. Your stomach is just black dead tissue" and then nonchalantly walks out. You have a serious problem at your facility. When a patient is on oxygen for an extended period of time it's common knowledge to even a lay person that it will dry out the nasal passages. When the family is sitting right there with the patient who says his nose is dry and irritated and the family ask the nurse for some saline gel for his nose, the nurse then says sounding confused, I don't think the Dr prescribed nose spay. I said, Not nose spray just some gel for his nose where the tubes are. The nurse then yells for another nurse and ask, Did the Dr order nose spray? Once again I said to the both of them, NOT NOSE SPRAY! Just some gel for his nostrils. They both walk off together saying, We'll ask the Dr about nose spray. Dear lord the incompetence I observed left me speechless. I waited a moment and then headed out into the hallway looking for anybody. The entire times I visited I never saw ANYONE from end to end in any hallway including other floors. An exorborant amount of money is charged for each patient and i did notice that no expense was spared in decorating. But all that money did little to help the people yelling out in pain. Nor did anyone rush to help the woman in a wheelchair screaming for help in the hallway. Im just curious how much are the execs are paid? Maybe those questions aren"t important. What does seem important is stressing on your website that this home is LGBTQ friendly. Since you claim to be a Luthern home have fun explaining your priorities to God.
