About Lubbock Health Care Center

Lubbock Health Care Center is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Lubbock, Texas, licensed for 120 residents. The community serves patients requiring rehabilitation and ongoing medical support, including those transitioning from hospital care.

Family reviews paint a divided picture. Supporters highlight attentive staff, effective therapy programs, and a homey atmosphere where residents feel cared for rather than treated as numbers. One family noted their husband arrived unable to eat or breathe independently and left with feeding and oxygen tubes removed. Families also mention responsive call-light service, appetizing dietary options, and genuine engagement from leadership. However, a consistent thread of critical reviews raises concerns about long wait times for call buttons, sometimes 30 to 60 minutes, inadequate assistance with basic needs like restroom access, and perceived neglect. One family wrote that they were "trespassed" after advocating for their mother.

The facility holds a 4.2 out of 5 Google rating based on 54 reviews. The stark contrast between five-star and one-star assessments suggests the quality of care or responsiveness may vary significantly by shift, unit, or circumstance. Prospective families should ask directly about staffing levels and call-light response protocols during tours.

This place is trash along with its staff they literally mistreat senior citizens very bad. My mother had barely gotten there and they forced her unto a bed and they yelled at her and she needed to use the restroom and nobody helped her at all she waited for hrs and nothing. Please don't listen to nobody concerning placing your loved ones here most horrible place ever and needs to be shut down and reported to the state and I will report them

Cynthia Fernandez is a hard worker, always looking for actives for us to do. She's a hard worker. She does the perfect nail job for us, and treats us all the same... Praise be to her...

I don’t have a single complaint about this facility! The staff is amazing, caring and supportive. Therapy is top tier. They answer call lights in a timely manner. The food is really good. It’s a nice calm atmosphere. Admission coordinator works with insurance companies. You can have things from home to make your stay more comfortable. I give them 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Do not at any cost put your loved one in this facility. They do not care and response time for answering the call button was around 40 mins which is not acceptable. I do not care how short handed they may be stop taking on more patiens/clients if that is the case. Everyone's loved ones deserve top care not when they're able to get to you. If you dont like your job just say so and move on. My mother is a high fall risk and all they did for her was put a mattress down and even after that she would end up on the cold hard floor with them leaving her there. I walked in the other day and she was on the cold hard floor crying and miserable there's no telling how long she was just laying on that floor. I went and spoke with someone who told me well shes been doing that all day. And I asked her was it not your job at the very least to help her off that cold hard floor? She was under the impression that well she keeps doing it so just leave her there. If that isn't neglect please let me know what is. And after I arrived and spoke to someone then they run in there and checked her blood pressure got her showered like they know they were in the wrong and trying to cover it up. My husband had to get her off that floor. Do not I repeat do not send your loved ones to lubbock health care center. This place at the very least needs to be investigated. Do your research!!!!
