I can not stress this enough…if you love your family members DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!! The rooms are not fit for a barn yard animal let alone cramming two people in them with wheel chairs, walkers, dressers, night stands, and table trays. While the admins sit in a/c the residents DO NOT HAVE IT IN THEIR ROOMS. We were told that family can bring in a fan. All the residents are continually coughing from who knows what, humidity causes mold which in turn makes people sick. The staff can not read names and signs, my families clothes continually ended up in his room mates closet and dirty laundry basket when we specifically stated that family will do our members laundry, my members shoes ended up on his room mates feet, the staff member took them off of my members bed, now here is the best part…HOW DO YOU LOOSE A PATIENTS GLASSES. A night staff member was reminded to make sure the valve on the catheter bag was closed, staff member said we know…well they didn’t close the valve and there was urine all over the floor the next morning. In almost a 2 month timeframe…two visits to the ER, today was my last straw…after talking to my family, we decided no more Lakeshores or any facility owned and operated by Monarch. Monarch has a bad rap for the Emeralds in Faribault and I thought that Lakeshores would be better, but it’s not. It is not fit for occupancy for a herd of pigs let alone human beings. This place needs to be shut down. The only good thing about lakeshores was Nick the nurse that works the afternoon shift.
