My first experience with Lake Shore Care was in the summer of 2020. I was looking for a live in caregiver for my mother, who was 97 years old at the time. I was referred to Halina Schimscheiner by my primary care doctor, who gave high recommendations. When I contacted Halina by phone, she asked me specific questions on what type of need my mother had. After a few days, she called me back & asked to come out with perspective caregivers. What impressed me in the beginning, when the caregivers came to be interviewed, they each had a binder, which included their qualifications & certifications, as well as pictures of families that they had cared for. After a process of elimination, we chose one individual to live in 5 days a week. Up until my mother's death in January of 2026, we had multiple people care for her, all through Halina. All were impeccably neat, knowledgeable, honest, but most importantly, very kind & compassionate. After catching my breath after loosing my mother, who lived a full & happy life, I know that I couldn't have done this without the help & knowledge that Halina has & has imparted on me as well.

Lake Shore Care was recommended by my daughter-in-law as we were in need of a new housekeeper. We called Halina -- she was very professional on the phone and asked many questions to understand our needs. After a week, she had three candidates for me to interview. Halina met us at a Starbucks, where we got to interview the candidates and choose one that was best for us. Our top choice accepted our offer and after two months, she has exceeded our expectations. We had a great experience with Lake Shore Care.
