I had an excellent experience with the IP nurse JAYNA. They were professional, compassionate, and took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly. Their knowledge and attention to detail made me feel comfortable and well cared for throughout the process. I truly appreciated their kindness, patience, and dedication to providing outstanding patient care. Thank you for making a difficult situation much easier to navigate. Highly recommend!

My mother was recently a patient in room 208B, and I just want to express how thankful I am for the care she received before being discharged. Nay consistently showed compassion, patience, and professionalism throughout her stay. She made sure my mom was comfortable, attended to, and treated with dignity at all times. It gave me peace of mind knowing someone so attentive was caring for her when I couldn’t always be there. Her work ethic truly stands out, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about her patients. The level of care she provided made a lasting impression on our family. We are very grateful for everything she did.

EDIT: do not just let them ship your loved ones to long term care. Elderly are human and have rights too. I was never given my medi-cal rights to appeal.(Medicare pays for 20 days, but medi-cal could pay for up to 99 before doing long term care—— why would the physical therapist tell me grandma is getting better but the facility wants her to go to long term care. Very suspicious. Grandma also mentioned they never gave her a suppository, they barely reposition her, only put in wheel chair on the last two days, and they take at least three hours to give medication. Grandma is home now, I’m taking care of her. An LVN named IAN yelled at me today because I asked to call my grandmas primary care physician. My grandma has been eating mush/blended food here since she arrived over 7 days ago, but I want her on real food because that’s what she eats at home and what she ate in the hospital. I was told and my mother was told 6 different times different things regarding her food. At this point, my grandma has no appetite and won’t even eat the food I cooked her. It sucks because I can’t be awake 24/7 for my grandma. It’s my fault I can’t make it all day long and bring her food to eat. She’s going to leave here worse than she came in, and I’ll be stuck giving her 24/7 care. It took over 7 days for a speech therapist to evaluate her ability to eat food and swallow. I got yelled at for advocating. A speech therapist should be part of admission to determine what food they can eat......... It should not take at least 7 days..... Especially when my grandma eats solid food at home and she ate solid food at the hospital. I would highly recommend freedom village less than a mile away. Grandma had been there before, loved it, got better, and made tons of friends with the staff. This place needs to probably pay their employees more so they can get more employees and then the LVNs aren’t all really mean and rude and yelling at the family members. The CNA’s are nice friendly responsive and helpful but the rest of this place is a sham.

Adding to the poor reviews for Laguna Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. My mom was transferred here after a fall and is also battling cancer. It took 14 hours for her to receive pain medication—she was left in tears. Even now, meds are not given on schedule despite me tracking the times. I understand staff may be overwhelmed, but this level of care is unacceptable. If this is how patients with an advocate are treated, I worry about those without one. If you have any other option, take it.

Having worked in a nursing home years ago, I carried a fair amount of apprehension about leaving the hospital. But what I found here exceeded every expectation. The place is spotless, the nursing staff is truly top‑notch, and the administration runs things with real excellence. If you’re looking for quality care, this is a five‑star facility. After another day here, I want to add something to my review and talk about man‑hours. My expertise comes from five years working in a nursing‑home kitchen. I watched the kitchen staff here today, and I was genuinely impressed. We had only three people preparing 150 trays, whereas this kitchen had six people preparing 200 trays. We were so stressed that it was nearly impossible to put out trays with the level of quality I see here. I knew how to cut corners just to get trays out in decent shape, but I didn’t see a single corner being cut in this kitchen. Man‑hours are the most crucial factor in a well‑run health and rehab facility. In my old workplace, we had one nursing assistant for each of our four stations. Here, they also have four stations, but I’ve seen at least two CNAs on my station each shift, even though I haven’t asked for exact numbers. From experience, I can tell when a facility is properly staffed — and this one is. They have an army of workers who aren’t overwhelmed, and less stress almost always leads to better care for the patients. My CNAs have been wonderful to me. I am deeply grateful for them, because they have played a major role in helping me recover so I can eventually go home. I will always have a special place in my heart for these ladies. When I first arrived, I was under deep stress. I stayed quiet about it, but my CNA saw it in my face. She touched my hand with the kind of compassion only a woman can offer a man in pain. That alone helped me hold on until my medication kicked in. She went to the LVN and asked him to move up the time for my meds, and he did. He came in, put his hand on my shoulder, and told me he would take care of me — and he did. The compassion I’ve received here is something money or hourly wages cannot buy.
