While visiting my mother I observed and overheard the administrator Tami yelling at one of the nurses that I think very highly of. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and did this in front of staff AND residents!!! This nurse has taken care of my mom for years and always treats me and mom kindly. For an administrator to do this for everyone else to see makes Lacon look very bad. What message does this send to the residents!! Do better Lacon!!!!

Lindsay Chrencik, Estela Carr and Roxanne have all, especially Lindsay, basically incriminated me when I was bringing my mom back to the nursing home saying that I only want her money and don't let her have any of it... I used my mom's money on her. I have 2 clients thru a home health care agency and my boyfriend has SSA. We don't need my mom's money, because we can pay all our bills and have plenty left over. I tried telling Lindsay this, but she kept treating me like I was stupid and told me multiple times in a condescending and mean way that I don't need my mom's money, her money is for her. I said I know my mom's money is for her. She's been using it herself. Then Lindsay informed me that I'm no longer my mom's POA, my sister and Aunt are her POAs, I said really, who brought $2,000 to my mom's lawyer office Pontiac IL to take me off and POA and make my sister and Aunt the POAs? Lindsay's voice cracked and she said um we can't give you that information because it would violate HIPAA laws. My mom got a check from her life insurance policy and she asked me to take her to the nearest cefcu in Chillicothe to deposit it. Lindsay had me call my sister to ask her if it was okay that I did that. She said well I have my reservations about that, but yes, Ann can drive mom to Chillicothe to deposit the check. My boyfriend and I were extremely mad and offended that Lindsay accused both of us of using my mom's money and halfway to Chillicothe, I turned around and drove my mom back to lacon rehab and nursing home. Lindsay was out there waiting and told me to not drive away until she saw the check to make sure we didn't get any money. She also said that since she knows what my car looks like, I'm not allowed to visit my mom or she'll have me and my boyfriend arrested. I asked her if my mom has her social security. She said no, I took her whole social security check and put it in her trust fund to pay for her rent and give her $20 here and there for whatever she wants or needs. She snatched the check from me and opened the envelope, looked at it and started talking to other people outside. I rolled up my windows and told my boyfriend well, she's seen the check, so I'm driving us home now and drove away. I've never been about accused of something so ridiculous in my life. I agree with other people posting reviews. They're for profit. I texted my sister when we got home and told her my experience and said she's not my sister anymore since we've all been adopted out when we were babies and she did nothing to defend me. I told her that she and her aunt can gladly take over POA because I'm done trying to help. I tried to help my mom move back to Pontiac IL since that's where she was born and grew up in, but her early onset dementia got worse and she said she wanted to go back to lacon rehab and nursing home. She was there for 2 years prior and said she was getting better with the medication they were giving her. Pontiac had long waiting lists for apartments that she wanted to move into and so did the nursing homes there so since she went back to lacon, I said, well I hope your eldest daughter and your sister can move you to Pontiac sometime even though they live in Pennsylvania and Washington State. I haven't visited her again unfortunately because I don't want to get into unnecessary trouble.

The most very worse place i have ever been too in my life. Bad food open 24 hrs seriously and people walk in to see a parent or family member and they see less workers or none sitting in a chair! Wow!!! This is horrendous i see funny one yeah no rehab place lol.. this is ridiculous. They dont have a lock on the dam doors for whenever you lock the doors lmao. Very intriguing a person can walk in and shoot people there's no locks on the door to lock it from the outside of course not cuz your open all hrs of the night and day. 24 hrs it says . So just per say someone walks in with something and starts shooting . I dont trust that at all.im so looking for another place this is not a nursing home. They let the older people do whatever they want. Even walk in people's room and talking to themselves up and down the hallway. No body therefinding a new home for my father n law. And showering once a week wow.

My sister has been at this facility fur approx 10 months. Her daughter was PoA and this week The director of nursing Roxanne and director of social services Estela Carr. Has been uncooperative for letting the family getting get in touch with their family member. They always have an excuse, saying she’s at lunch. She asleep, right after lunch mind you, we don’t like to bother the nursing staff , but haven’t been able to speak with her for over a month. we were told that our relative has a lot of tremors and can’t even hold her phone. Our family member is not being told her family has been calling. This is not a good place for your loved ones. It is a dictatorship. It’s FOR profit SNF That has also not taken care of our family member n has fallen 2-3 times.

We have been unable to speak to my mother who is bedridden and went into dementia during covid19, for over a month. With the new phone system, the cordless phones that residents use have not been connected like the rest of the phones.. The last time I was able to speak to her was September 1. Completely unacceptable!!!
