Nice facility but the staff leaves a bit to be desired. My mom was there for only a week for rehab on a broken shoulder and she wanted to leave because she wasn't being taken care of properly. In a weeks time she never was given a sponge bath or a shower. When she came home she was blood raw in areas of her body and the smell was horrific. Not to mention when we got her there the room was supposedly clean was not. We showed the nurse the black stuff in the sink and the dead bugs in the shower. Not at all pleased with the treatment of the residents there.

My Aunt was released today of her own doing. There was a man (supervisor) at 1:50am standing staring at her. In addition she pushed the call button and it took 3 hours for them to help her to the bathroom and then put a potty chair by her bed that was wobbly with the walker. She had a joint in her hip replaced and is 90 and very much in her right mind and she chose to do rehab instead of home health. Well one night is all it took. She called my uncle this am and said she was getting out of there today. We have talked to so many nursing staff and the head nurse and charge nurse said that was normal. The only one who didn’t try to cover for him and say this is normal was the director. NO it’s not normal. Announce yourself when you go in a patients room. Also answer the call buttons. Needless to say I was with her til they got her home. She was very upset and this is one of the most easy going woman I know and when she says I want out of here now. It’s bad. No one should be treated this way at all.

If you have a loved one in Kingsbrook get them out ASAP! My mamaw (has dementia) was there for a month for “rehab” following a heart attack due to Covid. They sent her home Sunday, not able to walk, talk, or sit up, which she could do before she went. Home health evaluated her and she’s going back to the hospital today for severe dehydration, UTI, and kidney failure. She also has bed sores and thrush in her mouth where they didn’t take care of her mouth the entire time she was there. And they always acted like everything was fine every day my mom called to check on her. All they did was sedate her and let her lay for a month until her insurance wouldn’t pay anymore. 😡😡😡 ****Editing to add*** my mamaw passed 6 days after coming home from kingsbrook 💔

My mother has spent a week here for therapy for her broken hip. She has had two therapy sessions in that time. The rest of the time she stayed in bed or in a chair. She complains that the nurses are extremely slow to respond, if they respond at all, to requests for bathroom or medicine. She was supposed be released on Monday, but the doctor didn't show up. It's obvious that the management here is incompetent and that the staff doesn't care. They did come around today and have her sign papers that she would have to leave in 2 days, when her insurance runs out. It makes me think that the insurance money is all they care about.

My mother experienced a stroke and multiple seizures at home. Since she's been at Kingsbrook we've seen much improvement, not only physically but mentally and socially as well. The staff is wonderful! Mom loves the food and the atmosphere - very peaceful and beautiful. She participates in some of the crafts and made a beautiful Derby hat :) Our family and friends are impressed such a wonderful facility exists in our area.
