My father was moved into hospice at what is now called Durango rehabilitation and I mainly stayed with him late afternoons through the night until morning. And the staff that I had met were beyond amazing. There is a special seat in heaven for those people that sacrifice their personal time and dedicate their work to making people feel cared for during their process of dying. Each person there genuinely cared and that’s all I could ever ask for in my dad’s passing. That he wasn’t ever treated like a number or a burden. The staff, 100/100, especially Chris, the night nurse. Amazing people. Thank you thank you thank you

I have lived here for more than five years and am both very content and extremely satisfied. This facility is located in a quiet area nestled next to beautiful woods and a creek/stream (seasonal) with frequent wildlife sightings; the other residents are quite friendly and generally upbeat; the staff is typically warm and caring; nursing is the strength of the facility, with carefully selected and well trained professionals; the food is excellent; the certified nursing assistants work hard and are personable; housekeeping and laundry are both attentive; and, not insignificantly, the activities department is fantastic with something almost always going on (I enjoy frequent trips to Walmart and the public library). Of course, it is unfortunate that sometimes someone has an unhappy experience (to be expected as an outlier every now and then), but I trust that it is as much a reflection of them as it is of their actual surroundings. When all is said and done, this really is a nice place to live and I highly recommend it. I know a community that cares for one another when I see it; let alone live there happily for as long as I have. Moreover, I am always fascinated to learn of people’s exposure and familiarity with other facilities, and they all say this is the best.

My grandma was here. We were very nervous because she has always lived with us. However she got too sick for us to care for her at home so we had to make the tough decision to place her in a nursing home. You always hear horror stories. My grandma loved it there. She enjoyed spending time with the other residents. She really enjoyed the staff, when we would come to visit she was always well dressed and looked cared for and loved. This was so reassuring that we made the correct decision. In my grandmas final days we were able to be at her bedside everyday and the nurses would come in and check on my grandma to make sure she was comfortable or if she needed any medicine and check to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. Thank you Junction creek from the nurses and CNAs to the people in the kitchen and house keeping to the management staff.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone. They are supposed to be caring for the patients there but instead they provide the absolute bare minimum in care. I observed the staff not giving meds until hours after they are supposed to be given, not giving necessary items like ice packs and proper equipment. Not giving patients showers for weeks. The rooms are hot and muggy with no air conditioning and patients aren’t given fans. Not giving patients their meals until late at night and only giving partial meals. Not giving patients water on a regular basis and patients too scared to ask for water because the staff will be mean towards them if they do. The staff are neglecting their patients and if a patient speaks up about needing something the staff is very mean towards the patients. I feel so sorry for everyone who is at this facility. Lots of mistreatment and who knows what else.

We moved my father-in-law here and it was a horrible experience. The cost was $9,000 per month and he was wearing the same outfit for five days in a row and eating cold food. There was not a comfortable place for him to hang out; the room was too small for us to put a comfortable chair in. During the day there was little going on and we would find him sitting in a hard chair trying to snooze (there was not a seating area for residence besides the dining room) bored out of his mind. We pulled him out of the facility after three weeks. The facility never returned the full remaining balance on our account (they did give us an invoice with it). After 11 months and hundreds of calls and emails, I gave up on getting our money back. They have changed ownership several times and can’t seem to keep anyone on staff. My guest is they do not have the funds to reimburse us. I asked Betty Barajas at the corporate office for her mangers contact information three times hoping someone hire up could help me out, but she refused to pass along that info and continued to tell me the “check was in the mail”. I have heard this for 11 months and we never received it. I would not recommend this facility.
