This place has the absolutely worst care of the faculty are lazy and stay on their phones. The administrator ignores everything and only worries about money. It smells horrid and they let their patients scream and holler for help. This place should be shut completely down and reported to the state. It is worst then a state hospital. If you care the least little bit about your loved ones do not put them here. They treat dogs better at the pound then these people treat their residents. If they give you a tour make sure you ask to see the entire facility not just the front they have made to look nice. Ask them to see what they feed the residents. The list can go on and on. Absolutely worst place and staff should be held accountable for the way they treat these patients

MY SISTER DIED IN FEBRUARY!!!! READ BEFORE PLACING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!!!!! I AM IN HEALTHCARE MYSELF!!! This place is a deplorable excuse for a nursing and rehab facility. If I could give zero stars, I would. My sister arrived here this past January and stayed off and on a couple of weeks because they kept sending her to the ER in Alexandria. She was placed here to help her recover from a long ICU stay. Jena placed her away from the nurse's station even though she had a trach, vent, and peg tube in place. The first time they sent her to the ER (supposedly for HIGH blood pressure) we were told she was gray when she came in because her trach got "disconnected" somehow so she coded, and the ER doctor had to perform CPR and brought her back. Apparently, she wasn't checked for appropriate BREATHING when she left Jena either by their staff and/or EMS. Then TWO days later they sent her back to the same ER with an admitting diagnosis of NO PULSE and ONE CHEST COMPRESSION. Not to mention a very low body temperature. The record stated that the respiratory therapist there at Jena said she had no pulse but gave her one chest compression to bring her back. When I asked her doctors about this, they thought that was a crazy diagnosis and didn't believe it. This facility also said she was having seizures, yet the family was never informed of this. The hospital did more tests to verify because she wasn't showing any signs of seizures since she had been admitted. It seemed to me that they didn't have ANY faith that Jena knew what they were talking. I would keep up with her medications since that is my profession. We figured out that Jena did not update her medications every time she would come and go from the hospitals. They kept giving her medications that she had been taken off of. I was shocked at this but the staff at the hospital was not. That was when we were told that many bad things had been seen coming from this facility on patients. Especially, horrible bed sores/wounds (my sister had a sore that hadn't broken the skin yet), infections (she had a uti), and giving incorrect medications. I want people to know some of the things that I saw and what my sister went through because we would not want it to happen to someone else. In today's healthcare, some people don't care nor will do their job unless they are watched in these types of facilities and that's heartbreaking because my sister couldn't take care of herself nor tell us what was going on. Always ask questions and stay informed on what is going on with your loved one's health.

I feel like they didn't do much here for my mom. They almost killed her. My mom is a diabetic her blood sugar was 27, it was too low, and they still gave her insulin, which then she had to be rushed to the hospital it. It sad they make the outside, and part of the front look nice and all, but if you look at the rooms, the detention centers look better than that place. I took a few pictures. And even when her insurance paid for everything, they still have the sense to send you the bill saying you owe them. They are never there when they say they will be there. No one ever answers the phone or be at the front to let you go see your family member. I would rather suffer at home than be put placed here. This was in 2022. They will keep sending the bill even after its been paid. They will just keep sending it. I have gotten it all for 2023 and 2024 and half of 2025.

Firstly, after reading all 26 reviews in realizing the bulk of these are from years ago. I would say to anyone with questions about this facility to either focus on reviews from the last year or schedule a tour to view the facility yourself in person. Some of the observations made in these reviews are accurate from years ago but are not valid for today. Secondly, I would say that anyone who has never worked in long-term care your viewing things from a perspective of how you think things are supposed to work not how they always do. The truth of the matter is long-term care facilities in Louisiana are frequently in the same status as this facility. This is provable to any stretch of the imagination if you simply review the state websites for care in the state of Louisiana. Thirdly, the general overall care in this facility is high level the level of resident that is admitted here is a much higher acuity than your traditional nursing home would even look at as horrible as some people would like to believe it to be so. Every single Nursing home in this state has issues every single Nursing home in the state has good employees and bad employees. . Also consider the majority of low star reviews typically in a Google review are from people who are jaded or angry this is not to say that all reviews are faulty or inaccurate. You can schedule a tour of this facility to view it yourself at any time. You can at any time come meet the admission staff ask questions of the director of nursing the administrator and see the facility for yourself. Be kind and respectful and understand that what you may hate is someone else's happy home.
