There are angels in our midst. Last year my wife spent 12 days in the Iosco County Medical Care Facility (ICMC). She was there for rehabilitation, which she needed because of a fall. She received both physical and occupational therapy from professionals who clearly cared about their work, and personal care from the nurses and certified nurse assistants who were caring and terrific in every way. She only met Dr. Dargis once, but he too was wonderful, spending more time discussing her issues than anyone would expect. These angels will deserve their places in heaven. Thank you to all of them for treating us so well. Mike & Ruth Doyle, Tawas City

Wonderful care facility. My mom did her rehab here and they treated her so well and made her feel extra special. Beautiful people who really care about the residents.

My Grandmother went to Iosco Medical Care in June of 2018. It started out well, then care became lacking the worse her dementia got. Covid hit and the medical aids were caught not wearing masks properly or at all, medical staff found it appropriate to not inform my mother (Medical power of attorney) after being unresponsive, with signs of and having a history of TIA strokes. They took that choice away from my family. Through the pandemic these residents weren’t going outside, or anywhere for that matter. But yet time abs time again residents and workers were testing positive. It was being brought in by workers, because at Iosco Medical it’s only a paycheck for them, medical care doesn’t matter. My grandmother restive positive along with 6 others in her wing of the facility. She was transferred to a recovery hub then hospital where she passed away. After calling the facility today to inform them and collect her items, more importantly an outfit for her funeral. There were ZERO condolences from the persons we spoke with. Only “we’ll call you back after I talk to Pat and arrange for her items to be packed” . . We haven’t been able to see my grandmother since March of 2020, she would have been safer out of the facility. And would still be alive.

My cousin (more aged than I) has been a resident for several months since the death of her partner of 60 years last Fall. She says she is very happy there and well cared for. Students from a local school come in to serve supper. The age and enthusiasm difference is great for the residents. Very nice staff.

Not happy with the place or the patient care. A very good and old friend was placed in this facility by her son and I have tried many times to contact her and have been unable to reach her. When I was able to see her, the staff did not seem to care for her as far as helping to keep her appearance looking nice. Her hair looked un-combed and her clothes, although clean, did not match. She appeared to be a homeless person that no one cared for. There was a cat in her room and the cat was on her food tray eating her food! I felt sick. I have let the family members know what I have seen. This visit was heart breaking for me.
