WOW! Can't say enough good things about The Terraces at Buffalo Hill! My mom has been living here for almost 2 months and she is celiac. I called all of the senior independent living/assisted living facilities in Flathead Valley; Immanuel Living was the ONLY one to say they felt confident that they could handle her celiac disease. The chef and restaurant manager have literally gone out of their way to make absolutely certain there is no cross contamination issues with my mom's meals. She's even asked if they could get GF oatmeal to have once in a while and they ordered it for her without question! They always have some sort of GF dessert available for her to order and plenty of GF options on their menus! My mom absolutely loves the food and has been eating better in the last 2 months than the last 2 years since my dad passed away. My husband and I make it a point to go at least once a week to have breakfast, lunch or dinner with her (all part of her monthly rent) and honestly the food is really quite good. My husband is especially partial to the flourless chocolate cake for dessert - it's so rich and decadent! Everything is prepared fresh to order and it never, ever feels like an "old folks home" The staff knows her by name and are so friendly and warm to her. And all of the residents just welcomed her into their community live they've been friends for years. If anything my mom is always exhausted because of all the activities they have during the day to choose from. She takes the shuttle on regular shopping trips, to church each Sunday and has even signed up for some other tours of places to go around the valley. She goes to the dinner and movie nights, popcorn and movie afternoons, art classes, fitness classes and so on. The entire staff from the kitchen crew, servers, housekeepers, maintenance crew and everyone else (too many to name) are literally top notch and really care about their residents! My mom describes The Terraces as Disneyland for adults. If you are looking for someplace safe for your elderly family member, you can't go wrong here. They literally have everything available there all while still living independent.
