Do NOT leave your love ones in here!

Beginning- The first couple of days ran with no issues; they send a van to pick us up, gave us a brouchure with all that is available for us.

The 1st. Red flag began when they have on the board shower days, (3 times a week) but my father didn't got a shower until 5th day when we had to verbally request one.

2nd. Red flag and major one that until now how cause my father restroom anxiety, they take FOREVER to answer bell calls. My father's room was located in front of the nurses' station and dispite that he to soiled himself twice during one month's time because they wouldnt take him fast enough. Then in another occassion they left him too long and it caused a bruised that made his recovery even more difficult. I had to reschedule an important medical visit because the bruise made it hard for him to seat in wheelchair for too long. He also got a bruise in his butt from lack of turning him but pic too graphic to share in a public forum.

3rd red flag and the one that ended him on ICU is the lack of actual care received by the medical staff, from all branches. Procedure that he needed but kept been pushed back until I told them I would take him to the ER. Nurses failing to give him his daily medication unless reminded or in general over worked, CNAs EXCEPT for a couple ( Monique & Taylor), others were generally dismissived, one according to my dad one CNA even spended most of her time sitting or just looking at herself in the mirror. Kinda agree with him since we were forced to literally visit him everyday, I NEVER saw her lift a finger. One time I asked for her assistance and she responded that, " that was not her section". Our room was across from nursing station so he KNOWs. One overnight CNA would only drop off dinner around 6PM and I would not see her around for the rest of the afternoon ( I would stay as long as I could 11-12AM).

4th RED FLAG
S.O.S procedure- This one was MAJOR RED FLAG! I arrived for my daily visit and noticed my dad acting abnormal. Colder than usual, speech changes, low pressure, his position in bed upon arrival. He is currently a wheelchair user. The CNA that he had that AM dropped him in bed without a blanket. I told the nurse I wanted to take him to the ER because he needed a procedure & for his current state. Nurse said to wait for her because they had " protocols to follow". Aka call their doctor first & try to get me to wait until next day for procedure that suddently could be done by them, filled paperwork, call transportation, and then wait for their arrival, ( during this whole time no one physically examine my dad), 5 HOURS later transporation arrived and he was admitted. Currently in ICU from a septic shock and other medical issues.

My point is, we decided to bring our loved one to received extra medical support and knowledge we lacked. We ended up leaving with him almost passing away.

Cherry on top

5th RED FLAG

Julio ( Hospitality Director) calls me 2nd day after my dad was admitted. He wanted to know if the wheelchair in the room was theirs or ours. No, " how is your dad doing?", " we are thinking of him". Instead just wanted to let us know that the room was been cleared out because a new person was moving in. That if we were returning we would be given another room & that my dad stuff would be in a bag at the back ( their storage area). That same day I called my brother to pick it up. We are currently missing items that were not in the bag. My dad's personal walker, books including a library book I I will probably have to pay if not returned, rehabilitation items we purchased or were given to us by the hospital. I personally went a second day to try to find items but only a CD player I took for my dad to listen to music was found.

Most importantly it saddness me to think my dad's items were shoved in a bag. They could had called and given us the chance to pick up our stuff. The worse part is thinking about all those residence that do not have anyone present to advocate for them.

Oh, and they got roaches!!

I am a mobile notary and came to complete some documents for a patient there. Staff was very kind. Facility is very secure as you scan in via face and a quick survey to fill out.
