About Idaho Home Health & Hospice, formerly, Treasure Valley Hospice

Idaho Home Health & Hospice, formerly Treasure Valley Hospice, provides hospice care in Caldwell and across Western Idaho. The organization serves patients in the final stages of life with a focus on compassionate, quality care delivered in patients' homes or places of residence.

Under physician supervision, the organization's hospice professionals deliver personalized care tailored to each patient and family's unique needs. The team works to create a specific plan to help patients and their loved ones live as fully and comfortably as possible during the final stages of illness, including family members in the care process and offering guidance and support.

The organization emphasizes a person-centered approach grounded in strong community relationships. Staff are empowered to embrace the communities they serve, with the belief that the best care happens when healthcare providers know their patients personally and understand their individual needs.

Hospice care is available to individuals with end-stage illness for which there is no cure. Contrary to common perception, hospice is designed to provide support throughout the final stages of illness, not just the last few days of a patient's life.

Coverage for hospice services is available through Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. The organization also provides resources including grief support guides and materials to help families understand the financial aspects of care.

Idaho Health & Hospice Staff are professional and amazing from the volunteers doing bathing, the front desk staff fielding calls, to the professional staff of social workers, chaplains, doctor and nurses. They communicate openly and honestly with a caring compassionate spirit. They also listen to the family and our concerns. Each one made my father’s last days so much more comfortable with their experience in his last days of life. My family and I can’t thank them enough for their dedication!

Treasure Valley Hospice provided exceptional care for our mother from the moment she went on hospice. Both my mother and our family were scared, but through their direction, we understood how to proceed with dignity and grace. Like so many families who have to work and find they are unable to physically take care of our loved ones, the burden and guilt was lessened with their care. Treasure Valley Hospice communicated regularly with our family and we noticed a marked improvement in the quality of her life at the care facility, as a result. Treasure Valley Hospice provided stability, familiarity, and individual attention our mother needed. During the final year of her life, she lost her memory and unlike many other care providers, Treasure Valley Hospice treated her like a human being and helped our family understand her illness more. As she struggled physically during her final months, our family was comforted as well, watching the nurses keeping her comfortable ..., especially during her final days. After our mother’s passing, Treasure Valley Hospice continued to provide comfort and support to our family as we went through the grieving process. We will be eternally grateful. We all have choices in our life and we are thankful we chose Treasure Valley Hospice to care for our mother.

The staff was amazing and took fantastic care of my Dad as well as my Mom. They made sure we had everything we needed to make it through this horrible time in our lives. We had an abundance of support even after my Dad passed. My Dad loved his nurse and she was the best of the best! If you are able to ask for Michelle she really made all the difference in the world. But everyone at Treasure Valley Hospice is amazing!

I cannot begin to explain how grateful my family is for this wonderful company. I have a 86 year old grandmother with a history of mini strokes that would continually lose consciousness as they'd happen. Time after time she'd be taken by ambulance to the Emergency Room, have every test under the sun completed, get admitted for a few days, then released with no real diagnosis or game plan for us. This last round, she was discharged to a rehab facility, to which my mom and I agreed, because we didn't know any better. Once my mom and I found my grandma, who had an altered mental status and was an active fall risk, sitting alone in a wheel chair, shivering, on a concrete floor with no padding, with nothing to keep her from trying to stand (while under an air conditioner blowing full blast!), and no staff member in sight, we knew we couldn't leave here there. It was not the right care plan. I immediately called Shay Ewing, a friend from high school, as I knew she was in the elder care field, though I had yet to know how specialized and helpful she'd become. I explained everything to her and she recommended we get in touch with Heart 'n Home. Through a lot of headaches, fighting PCP's, and jumping through many hoops, Shay and her fellow staff members (who are all incredibly fantastic, I cannot say enough about every single person we encountered and continue to encounter), my grandma has been approved for Palliative Care. A type of care I had no knowledge of before, but it is perfect for us. My grandma no longer needs multiple ER visits, poking and prodding, and endless frustration. She's able to get the care she needs at home, while my mom also gets assistance and piece of mind knowing she's not the only "caretaker" any longer. We are forever grateful to the staff at Heart 'n Home. We appreciate you all and I'm so thankful for Shay for getting me educated on the alternative options. As my grandma says "getting older isn't for the weak of heart", but now, she doesn't have to give up everything she knows and loves as her days continue.
