I’ve been into many offices and facilities in the healthcare industry, but rarely have I seen the kind of welcome and customer service that I have received with home instead. We used Home Instead caregivers to help with my Dad for close to 2 years. I was his primary caregiver but when I couldn't be there we used Home Instead. Michele and Brecklyn were always so helpful in arranging caregivers to accommodate my unusual schedule- which changed every week. If I ever needed to contact them with concerns, I felt listened to and validated. My Dad had his favorite caregivers and they were scheduled as often as possible. On the whole it was a wonderful experience and I am so grateful to all of the Home Instead team for how they treated my father and how they made him feel validated and important during his final years.

We used Home Instead services for my dad for about five years. It was a great fit in allowing him to live at home and still be independent as he transitioned to being a non-driver. Over the years, we went from having three times a week shifts to shifts twice a day. Companions would take him to get hair cuts, go to the grocery store, the gym, church, etc. They took walks with him, did puzzles, and as he got older, prepared some meals. The companions really came to know my dad and his preferences and catered to his specific needs. The companions that came into his home were varied in age and abilities and we definitely had some favorites over the years, but I could tell that they all cared about my father very much. The office was great to work with - I received a lot of support and education on how to handle supporting a parent with dementia. We had open and frequent communications and were able to adjust his level of care as he grew older and his needs changed. I appreciated their cancellation policies as there were times when family came into town or wanted to spend an evening with my dad and we could be very flexible with their services. When it became necessary to move my dad to memory care, it was an emotional time to conclude their services; there were some tearful goodbyes. Highly recommend.
