Do NOT put your parent in this place, they drop the ball a million times during setting up for assistance with the state on payment then wait until your family member is on their death bed to say you owe them money, harass you during the hardest time of your life then six months after they die serve you with court papers to sue you. They are desperate, irresponsible, heartless and lack the responsibility to admit any fault. My mother had nothing but social security, after being told the state was going to cover any past due balance she had, all of a sudden there was a portion she was responsible for. that bill tagged along her entire stay there, no one mentioned it to me at all about making payments on it because the money that she had was still going to pay her bills as the expectation was, she was going to someday come home. Had I known from the beginning what I know now we would not have paid any of her credit card bills, cell phone bill, her supplemental insurance bill, bills for storage, but in paying all that stuff the little bit she got from Social Security went away and now these people are trying to sue me personally.
Endless nightmare
Instead of helping my mother they just sat with her waiting for her to die so they could collect. The care was subpar but it isn’t very easy to move someone out of a nursing home when they can’t walk, and need constant care. These people would not give her a days or a minute worth of any physical care that they weren’t able to bill to the state. Forced her to stay sitting down all the time because obviously she was a fall risk. No one would take the time to help her walk a little bit each day so that she could regain her strength instead they were quick to just write her off make her sit down so that she lost the ability of both legs, they didn’t even want to take her to the bathroom, even though she would ask over and over again to go to the bathroom because she didn’t want to use diapers, but they forced her into diapers. It’s almost like they accelerate your death. They take such bare minimal care of you that you have no choice but to decline and die quicker than you would, if you were home with your family or had any individual care, they are also constantly short staffed. One of the employees they had there put his hands on my mother eventually they fired him, but they never wanted to talk about that. It’s funny how they like to call the Department of aging on you and say they need to look at your funds and make sure you are not miss using your parents funds, but they don’t call that same department and report themselves for having employees who push your mother and knock her down into a chair because she kept trying to stand up. So much went on here I was hoping to put it all behind me but I guess not. Save yourself the nightmare and get someone to come to your house and take care of your mother or father if you love them at all and have the state just reimburse you for it. You will be way better off.

If I could give Holy Family a hundred stars , I certainly would. They are more caring and compassionate than I could have ever hoped for. And clean!

I can not say enough good about the level of extraordinary compassionate care each of my loved ones received at this facility. Through a very unfortunate set of circumstances, 3 of my family members ended up here in long term care for dementia within a 2.5 year span. The staff took amazing care of each of them and was kind to us as well. Whatever concerns we had were always addressed immediately and professionally.

It is so hard when a loved one has to be cared for by others, but Holy Family and its office and care staff were exceptional. The facility was always very clean. The social worker always planned meetings to always keep us updated about the changes in care. The financial and admissions office walked us through every step. The nurses and aides were professional and caring. A priest or chaplain was always available for spiritual guidance when needed. The activities aides were motivating and engaging. At this facility, They do not keep people in the hallway just sitting there. They try to keep them engaged, stimulated and socialized. They even did an activity once where a chef came in and made apple fritter flambé for them right there in the activities room! My mother especially loved that. All of the staff also helped us, the family, through some very difficult times. Was everything always perfect? No…perfection does not exist anywhere in life, but what does matter is that they all cared and delivered that care with compassion and professionalism.

It doesn’t seem enough to merely say thank you to each and every single person who helped my loved ones, but it is all I can think of to say…from the very bottom of my heart. The people here became like family to us over the years and I will never forget them and how they helped all of us. If your loved ones should ever , God forbid, need a nursing home, I would highly recommend Holy Family Manor.
