My dad died 3 months after being here. He had dementia. This facility is not equipped with experienced staffing that is able to properly care for patients with dementia. My dad was over prescribed anti-psychotics by a negligent doctor to the point of his mouth hanging open and drooling excessively. When I was discussing reducing this dosage, the nurse (Terry) hung up the phone on me. They do not like people who question them. They also were speaking Spanish to him when he solely speaks English. They lost so many of his belongings. And finally, he was in his bed, severely oxygen deprived due to having COVID and I asked to talk to him. The worker said I was not allowed to speak with him and speaking with him was only allowed on his personal cell phone (which he did not have). My dad was dying in his bed and they refused for me to talk to him. He was airlifted to Waco, put on a ventilator and died shortly after. This facility should be shut down or change it's level of care. Staffing is limited to people in the area who are not educated at that level. The man who used his personal cell phone to allow me to talk to my dad along with Dave the director were the only two people who had a heart. Please please be careful with this facility if your loved one can't speak for or defend themselves.
