Heritage Woods of Charleston

Heritage Woods of Charleston is an assisted living community in Charleston, Illinois, serving adults 65 and older who need assistance maintaining their independence. The two-story community houses 68 studio and one-bedroom apartments, each with its own kitchenette, private bathroom, and emergency response system.

The community offers personal assistance with activities of daily living and medications, with certified staff on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Support services include three daily meals, housekeeping, and laundry. Residents live in the privacy of their own apartments while receiving the care and support they need.

Heritage Woods emphasizes lifestyle and fun while maintaining residents' health, wellness, dignity, and independence. The community provides social and recreational activities for residents to enjoy the companionship of friends and neighbors. A full array of amenities and helpful services supports residents' daily comfort.

The community was awarded the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living 2020 Bronze Quality Award, recognizing providers that have developed a foundation and begun a continuous journey of quality improvement. Heritage Woods was also recognized as a Great Place to Work.

Located east of Mattoon between the Champaign-Urbana area and Effingham, Heritage Woods opened in April 2011 on property adjacent to Cougill Senior Living Apartments, also owned by Yost Management. A financial assistance program and the Supportive Living Program for Illinois seniors on Medicaid are available to qualifying residents.
