My mom had a fall and I felt like I needed to start looking for options just in case she needs more help than I can provide in her home. I went to visit Lynridge and met Taylor. I was impressed by the facility but Taylor made me feel so comfortable and relaxed with the whole process. Luckily at this point mom is still at a place where she can stay in her own home but now I feel like I have options. Taylor has continued to stay in contact and made this property stand out. If you need care for a loved one absolutely reach out to her.

Update- This facility has had a large turnover rate. I visited my family friend this Mother’s Day weekend, and I have to say that there are several things that really need to be addressed here. I will start by saying that the nurse was on duty which is not typical for a Sunday and is not very knowledgeable when I came in my loved one pointed the nurse out and stated that often she doesn’t address things in a timely manner when residents bring things up to her attention. How can this be the case when families pay privately to have their loved ones cared for. Second, I noticed a few familiar faces that were in memory care and it seems like they are taking these residents during the day over there for them to be cared for in that unit, is this how assisted living’s operate now? It seems that when you call for assistance, there is a delay in response as it was told to me by my loved one that they are often working short and that staff doesn’t want to come to work. This was not the case before, what is different now. I understand that healthcare is a difficult field but again this is not acceptable and often causes a strain in our loved one getting the care they pay for and deserve. Lastly, meal service was horrible, they didn’t have the dining experience they should have. The food was salty, the servers were slow in taking orders and attending to the residents. Residents were not served in a timely manner and the servers are short staffed or coming late that caregivers are having to help with dining room therefore not watching the halls. Portion sizes have decreased and things you ask for are not available. This is so unacceptable with again the money that is paid to live here. This is a big problem and I hope that something is done about this. I also would like to mention how unprofessional the dress code is with some of the servers that work, one young lady was wearing tight leggings like is how they are supposed to dress if it is formal dining this isn’t what you see at a restaurant. My friend is currently looking for placement elsewhere. Please do your research before moving your loved ones anywhere, the things you often see when you walk in aren’t what they are. I suggest doing pop ups in the community when management isn’t aware so that you can see the real picture of things.

I recently have walked through this facility twice with the memory care director Mrs. Dena. The facility was clean, very well taken care of, no dust anywhere. All the residents were so sweet, they would stop doing their puzzles, watching movies, or playing games to come greet us with smiles and conversation. I was shown some of the jewelry they made, which was gorgeous and told about them having a day out of the week to bake. Every care taker you could tell enjoyed being there and being with the residents. I saw lots of dancing with them, singing, helping them when they were lost or with the activity they were working on. Talking to them like a family member. Everything was very organized and just amazing and heart warming to see.

I have visited the community during the week and often on weekends and seeing the last post I have to speak up. Families need to know from another family friend that the memory care unit is often very dirty, has a smell and apartments are not kept very clean. I have seen cockroaches in the dining room area and the floors sticky when I walk through. During meals very small portions are served and at times run out. Few times there has been water stain by the kitchen window with no sign to say be careful. I have noticed poop stain on the carpet when I enter and when I go to the common area the residents are just sitting there with NO activity going on. Employees are on their phones and not paying attention. Some residents have magazines in front of them to make it seem like they are doing something. I have seen a calendar and when I read it the activity schedule is not happening. I have been there during the week and noticed how the manager in the unit is not paying attention to what the employees do and have seen her walk in and go to the office. This is concerning as family members we place our loved ones in these communities because we are unable to care for them and this is what they have to go through. Be involved and ensure that the care you pay for is being done.
