What seemed to be a great choice for the rehab of my mom after a fall, turned out to be a bad mistake in judgement. She was admitted early afternoon and a staff member checked in on her one time by 8pm. In all fairness, she was agitated and just wanted to go home, still recovering from her fall. An hour later we were going to leave and went to the nurses station saying she was trying to get up and felt like she needed supervision. Their solution was to put her in a wheel chair and have her sit at the nurses station The following day there was no attempt to do any rehab. It seemed like they were content for her to be sedated and in bed. I asked for a meeting with the nursing director to express our concerns with medications and wanted to focus on rehab, specifically gaining weight and strength along with strategies that would give her the opportunity to return home. ALL of this time she had quite a few visitors throughout the day. Family was even there for her birthday party. The following morning they called to inform me that she has fallen and was being transported by ambulance to the hospital. The only way they would allow her to return was if someone was with her 24/7 to supervise her. This seems completely unrealistic to pay a rehab center to care for her with the stipulation that someone is with her 24/7. I have never heard of such a thing. Needless to say, we have no interest in returning. Very disappointed with the quality of care and commitment to rehabilitation.

Just got my dad over here and even on day 1, I can tell this is the perfect place for him to be! The place is beautiful, clean and smells good! It feels like a family here…. The staff is outstanding, so helpful, knowledgeable, and you can tell that they really do care about getting people well. If your loved one needs care, start here!!

The care by the staff and therapy department was excellent! They sincerely cared about his well being and progress. They became like family during our stay. At times, there was inconsistency with food and night time care. The facility was always open to questions and feedback and they responded to all of our concerns with kindness. We would highly recommend Old Cheney Rehab!

My father is currently at Old Cheney Rehab. Unfortunately his health has required a couple of different rehab stays this year. Old Cheney by far has been the BEST! The facility is clean and beautiful. You are always welcomed with a smile. The therapy has been outstanding. The physician's and nursing staff are wonderful and very caring. As busy as they are, they have taken the time to get to know my father and our family. It is so appreciated. I can't say enough nice things about the administrative staff. They exceed all expectations. The care and concern for the patients and family are genuine. Thank you for all you do.

I felt like all the staff was caring & considerate as they encouraged mom in her post ischemic attack response. From the house keeping, kitchen, physical therapy, occupational therapy, students, director delivering her “white tea” (hot water) several times the day she arrived to the regular care staff . I spent 8 hrs a couple days & 3-5hrs another time so I could get a good idea of the staffing those days. I thank God for Old Cheney Rehab.. One time while I was there they had the call light extended as far as it would reach . It was on her L) side that wasn’t working well & out of her reach at that time. Yankee Hill Village has them wearing made it alert buttons, so they always have a call light. Just a suggestion. ???😊❤️
