I used this service for myself as a “semi-handicapped” Vet. The attendant I had was at best, none compliant to the very minimal needs I required, because my abilities are only limited to being able to be fully mobile with satisfactory results. So all she was required to do was “light” cleaning (one large room, a bathroom and small kitchen). Never did she have to cook for me, or provide hygiene activities. Occasionally I did send her to the store (with computer generated list, showing pictures and pricing of items I wanted), she had major problems following these explicit, computer generated instructions, often returning with items not listed, or things completely different than what was on the “printed” list. Her ability to wash “anything” in a completely modern computerized washing machine was beyond her scope of intelligence no matter how much I showed her the procedure. She never stayed the full 3 hours and wanted her report to be signed in advance of work to be performed. I eventually had to get rid of her due to chronic dysfunction and sheer noncompliance with what she was charged to do. My needs are “extremely” minimal, and this attendant could not even do that job correctly.

I’ve been dealing with this health Care service for a few years now. I’ve had a caregiver to walk out and leaving the Veteran in the bathroom naked because she was going through somethings at home. I’ve had over seven no call no shows. It’s been hard for them to find 8am to 12pm caregivers. One of their nurses were so rude to me I told her she was never welcome in my personal Care Home facility ever again; and she tried to come back again and I was going to allow it; she was rude again. I should not have to train these caregivers they should already know their job. I think the owner in only in it for the money and not the quality of care given. The one I have now is.....this is my last straw with this company and I’m moving on to try Rest Care. No I would not recommend HealthStaff at this time.

Stay Away!!! We were referred to this company by the VA for my 93 year old father. The day I found out the VA had approved his request for in home aide care I was so excited; however that excitement quickly turned to frustration. Healthstaff Services has been a nightmare; to say the least. The home aides they hire are very unprofessional and do not have the appropriate skills, experience and training to help a child, let alone the elderly. In a 3 month time period my dad had 4 different aides. (1) One aide wanted my day to presign her timesheets weeks in advance, (2) one aide was eating my fathers food and drinking his sodas, (3) another aide was on her phone for the entire 2 hours, and (4) the last aide was walking around areas in my home that was off limits.<br>If you have other choices please, please, please do not use this company. I think they need to close this business because it is disgusting how this company treats its veterans. I warned you!!!
