Mark Lopez was our hospice nurse helping prepare our husband and father to pass. We were so pleased with his presence. He was professional, warm, caring, instructing about meds carefully, explaining the death process as we approached each phase, and always available when we needed him. Most importantly, my husband was very comfortable with him and looked to Mark for solace and honesty. We had all the confidence in Mark’s ability to be with us through this process. We are so grateful for him as a family grieving and anticipating our loss. — Martsie Webb and family

Our nurse, Mark, not only took excellent physical care of my husband’s needs, but he immediately became my husband’s friend talking to him about his former occupation and interests, keeping his emotional health thriving as well. Nurse Mark provided a great deal of comfort to me knowing my husband had the best care possible. He ordered a shower chair and other items the same day we needed them. He encouraged us to call him whenever we had a concern. Marks’ timely assessment enabled our son to avoid boarding a plane and drive here immediately, making it just in time to give his dad a blessing just hours before he passed away. I highly recommend nurse Mark and the entire staff.

Health Watch cared for both my mom and dad before they passed, and the level of compassion and professionalism they showed was outstanding. Jami is an excellent, highly knowledgeable nurse who consistently provided comfort and support. I truly appreciate everything she did for our family.

Janna is great and CNA Daysi is awesome but don’t be stressed as a full time family caregiver because the nurse and admin have no tolerance or compassion if you panic or express concern when your loved one has an adverse reaction to the meds they administered. They will toss you and your loved one out on the street and throw you under the bus with no warning and no explanation with no effort to seek understanding or give compassion during difficult days in your journey.

My wife Donna recieved excellent home health and hospice care from Health Watch! Not only was she taken care of physically but the caregivers took care of her as a person showing love, patience, and kindness. I highly recommend Health Watch to anyone needing home health or hospice services! She was able to stay at home due to the services performed. Every time I talked to anybody from Health Watch, Donna always told me "please tell them how great they are!" Words alone can not express how comforting it was to see the care given to my wife, Donna. Thank you! Sincerely, John DePalma

Does Medicare cover care from Health Watch?

Yes. Health Watch is a Medicare-certified home health agency, so Medicare Part A or Part B pays in full for skilled nursing, therapy and home health aide visits when a doctor orders them and the patient is homebound. There is no copay for covered home health visits. Medicare rates the agency's quality of patient care 4.0 out of 5 stars.

Do I need a referral to use Health Watch?

For Medicare to pay, yes: a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant must certify that care is needed and sign a plan of care. Families can call the agency first, and the agency will usually contact the doctor to arrange the order. Ongoing help with bathing, meals and companionship is a different service, non-medical home care, which needs no referral.
