My mother-in law recently moved to the Hammond Center and the transition from her apartment to this new living arrangement was seamless. The tour and the pre-admission assessment done by Sammi, RN Manager were done in a respectful and professional manner, and she directs the interview to the resident. I can't say enough about the staff who treat each resident as family and also the residents who make sure you are welcomed. The culture is family oriented and staff respond quickly to your needs. The meals, activities, having the laundry and cleaning done has definitely made life easier for her. My Mother-in-law is thriving in this nurturing and caring environment, and she feels safe knowing someone is always available at the touch of a call button. I would highly recommend the Hammond Center if you are looking for assisted living for your loved one. The Hammond Center is truly a "Center of Excellence" in my opinion. My mom recently moved into the Hammond Center after living on Seeland Park Campus for 14 years. The staff have been amazing even during the tour. My mom loves all the activities and since she has moved in she hasn’t needed to go out in the cold weather. We are very grateful for the staff and the care she is receiving.

The best decision we ever made was to move mom to the Hammond Center. The staff genuinely cares about their residents. They treat my mom like family. My mom is always busy. She loves the activities, crafts, and trips. We’ve noticed a remarkable difference in mom’s personality since she’s moved in. They take the worry off of my sister and I. What a great asset to the Grinnell community.

The Hammond Center has met and exceeded ALL of our expectations as we entered a new phase of life with our parents! When they said "yes" to living at the Hammond Center, Sammi sat with them, welcomed them, and talked to them and respected them as a couple, as capable decision making adults, as it was a life changing event from living on the farm all their life! From the "Welcome" coffeetime, to purchasing a ping pong table for residents to play, to the daily exercise and activities that are available to participate in, along with special outings, special performances, and special days to celebrate residents, to having a puzzle to always work on and build community with each other with, to having staff that enjoy their work and engage with residents, to meals that are 100% delicious and nutrition needs that are catered to, to a complex that welcomes and embraces family members to visit, and there's so much more! The decision to move is huge, but moving to the Hammond Center has been such a blessing knowing that our parents are well taken care of 24/7. And knowing that our parents enjoy living there makes writing this review so very easy!

We have had such a wonderful experience with the Hammond Center. Making the decision to move a loved one to assisted living can be difficult, but they were there every step of the way making the process so much easier than we ever thought it could be. They answered all questions and were so welcoming! My grandma has praised every department there from how helpful maintenance is, to the yummy food where she gets multiple options to choose from, to the exceptional care she receives from all the nursing staff and all the fun activities they offer throughout the day. She has also been attending exercise classes they offer and walking the track in their fitness center with new friends. They are like their own little family there and they take great care of each other. We are extremely thankful to know she is in such great hands and can't thank everyone there enough!
