Group Home of Alliance

Group Home of Alliance is an intermediate care facility with 30 beds divided among 4 one-story homes in Alliance, Ohio, each serving 7-8 individuals. The community has operated since 2007 and features spacious yards in a welcoming small-town setting. All homes are accessible, with private bathrooms in each bedroom; most rooms are single occupancy, though two shared bedrooms exist in each home. Residents may decorate their rooms and bring their own furniture, or the community provides basic bedroom sets.

Staffing includes a minimum of two staff members on duty at all times, with one staff member covering the 11pm-6am midnight shift. A licensed practical nurse is on duty 24/7 to assist all shifts. The community is led by experienced house managers, team leaders, and qualified intellectual disability professionals, including one with extensive behavioral support expertise. A behavior consultant provides assessments, and speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and physical therapy services are available as requested.

Residents attend Creative Learning Workshop in Louisville, Ohio, and the community is affiliated with the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Programming includes Special Olympics participation for many residents and monthly dances sponsored by the Stark County Board of DD. Residents have a voice in planning activities through regular house meetings.

The community is preparing to offer respite care services for those needing temporary accommodations.
