My mother was there for 21 days after hip replacement for therapy. The admission personal was wonderful and very helpful. Upon arrival the building is kinda set off the main street a little and my first impression was it looked cozy and the outside was clean with a manicured yard. To enter the building and exit you have to ring doorbell amd wait on a employee to let you in or out, this sometimes took a few minutes and was very inconvenient a couple times when I had to make a few trips to and from the car bring mother stuff she needed in or out. The interior of the facility was always clean. The decor is modest and simple. The rooms are way to small for 2 patients once tou put 2 beds 2 dressers 2 chairs 2 nightstands then 2 wheelchairs and 1 or 2 bedside potty chair you barely have room to walk and forget about maneuvering a wheelchair in there. They may not be all the same size I only know what moms was like. As far as care goes. The physical therapy part was great they may not have shiny fancy equipment but this is thw 3rd time mother has had to do therapy before returning home from a hospital stay and the 3 facility and it is by far the best therapy she has received and the only one which we felt she was actually showing improvement and it also is the only one that she has stayed the full time allowed because thw other 2 places one was a major hospital and she wasn't improving much after her brain surgery and 2 strokes the second place was a joke so I took her home ama. But at Grenada rehab they actually worked her and kept her motivated to want to do more. The nursing staff was wonderful very helpful with any concern you brought to them, but the nursing assistants were not in the same category as the nurses. For the most part I would probably rate them a 6 out of 10 there are a few that are wonderful go above and beyond very caring and compassionate bit that was just a handful the rest were lazy and sat in the corner at the nurses station on thier cell phone or talking to each other( that was mainly the evening shift)and acted like you were bothering them when you needed something. And a few of them were rude and hateful toward my mother ( on the evening shift) I did discuss it with lady in the office that called me asking about the care she was receiving, and when I got there just a few hours after that it was resolved and nursing staff was very pleasant and apologetic. Over all this facility is a excellent choice for therapy if your loved one can manage their day to day care. The only complaint I have is that instead of helping her to the bathroom they kept telling her to go in her diaper and thay is very degrading to someone that only wears diapers for accidents when on the way to the bathroom. She called several times upset because she had to have a bm in a diaper. About a week before her discharge she finally got a bedside potty. Oh and I almost forgot if your wanting to get in touch with someone after 5pm or on the weekend you can hang it up they do not ever answer the phone or return voicemails after hours and weekends.
