My mom died there 4 years ago from an infection because of poor care

If I could give zero stars, I would. This was the worst experience ever.<br><br>It was my dad’s first time being placed in a nursing home. He was transferred from the hospital . The very next day, we were told they did not have the proper equipment for him. My dad is unable to walk due to a fall and requires respiratory equipment for his care.<br><br>I called multiple times the next day trying to get answers because my dad was choking and no one was coming to help him ! I was placed on hold repeatedly, and several of my calls were never answered. When I finally got through to someone, I was told they were probably going to send him back to the hospital because they did not have the necessary equipment.<br><br>My question is: why accept him in the first place, knowing the level of care he needed?<br><br>My dad is nonverbal, so I specifically told the nurse to call me if they decided to transfer him back to the hospital. They did not call me. I was never notified.<br><br>This experience was extremely frustrating and upsetting. Families trust facilities like this to properly care for their loved ones, especially when they are vulnerable and unable to speak for themselves…

The nursing care is fine, but the kitchen and dietary department have no regard for special diets, like Type 2 Diabetes. I am currently a patient and have spoken to every person since i was admitted 2 weeks, and either I am fed lettuce and tomatoes or spaghetti. So frustrated. I need protein and healthy vegetables, not carbs.<br><br>I was readmitted in September, and the dietary situation is worse! The attached photo is just one example of how poor the meals are. This is what I was fed for dinner on a Sunday.
