I'll probably be kicked out of here for saying this, but what the Heck. I'm a 64 year old disabled resident of here, and it has been my since I was a kid, to be in comic book, I finally got the chance, and this place took it away from me. The room I live in is too small for me to work on the artwork. So since I sat at a cafeteria table, all by myself, in another room, I set up my art supplies at my table. Spent all of last night doing it. I slept four hours and they took everything of my art supplies down, and took away my shot that I've had since the 1960s. I am banned from working on my dream by the director here.<br>So no dream come true.<br>Can you imagine the press when my work was going to be published?<br>"SENIOR CITIZEN FULFILLS HIS LIFE LONG DREAM OF BEING A COMIC BOOK WRITER/ARTIST IN ASSISTED LIVING HOME AT GRAN VILLA IN ATCHISON KANSAS"<br>I'm not saying that that's the headline, but it would have been in the press story, as I would have been grateful for being allowed to do my work somewhere else because my room is too small.<br>Well, this is the press they're getting.<br>They treat you like you're here to die.<br>Me? I came here to LIVE. But obviously that's not allowed here?<br>My spirit is crushed. There's a lot of that going on here.<br>Too many promises unfulfilled, like rearranging my room for extra space, and cleaning my room, while I did my best to help. Nope. Unfulfilled promises.<br>Don't come here if you have dreams. Come here if you're ready to die.<br>This place reminds me of Bill Murray's Groundhog Day. Everything is the same everyday. Disappointment and every day is the same.<br>And they'll kill your dreams.<br>Could you imagine the excellent press when I would have fulfilled my 60+ year old dream, here in an assisted living home?<br>Only excellent press, because a 64 year old resident got published for his four page comic book story in an assisted living home.<br>I'd be the happiest rookie in comics.<br>But no good press here for Gran Villa.<br>They ruined a 64 year old man's dream.<br>Don't let them ruin yours...

I am currently A resident of Grann villa Atchison. I can not say enough of how safe and clean the facility is. Everyone here is very nice and really cares about the residents that live here the food is good the rooms are very clean and they go above and beyond for the residents. I give you just the right amount of care I myself am on the younger side and prefer my privacy and they are excellent at knowing when I need my space and when I need help they know most the time when I need something before I even now I have come to consider all of them part of my extended family and I believe that you would be very happy with the care you left one would get by that buy this facility

This facility has been wonderful from the very beginning when my mother moved there. I can’t say enough about the caring and professional staff that became her second family. She and I think very highly of each and every employee there. What a safe, clean, and friendly place.<br>They all went beyond to assure residents were extremely well cared for

My mother moved into Gran Villas of Atchison in 2016 after my father passed away. She was unable to stay by herself so we looked at Gran Villa and were immediately sold on the facility. My mother has received excellent care the entire time she has been there. You couldn't ask for a more caring staff than Gran Villa. The facility was always kept clean, the staff is very caring and friendly, and most of all the care was absolutely wonderful. I don't worry about mom being taken care of properly as I knew she was in good hands. My mother refers to the staff at Gran Villa as her second family and loves them so much. Thank you one and all at Gran Villas of Atchison for the awesome care you give not only to my mother, but all the other residents that are there.
