Please let me say before I continue that I am a retired hospital pharmacist that worked on a patient floor so I understand patient care very well. I wish someone would have posted in these reviews about short term rehabilitation post op after surgery. When placement from the hospital the social worker can tell you how many stars a place has for Medicare beds.. but you have to ask...Good Samaritan has 1 star rating (. On a scale of 1 lowest to 5 highest) . There is a very good reason for this low rating.: I could go on and on but will hit a few points 1). After 20 days the physical therapist ( Mallory) said he didn't need physical therapy even though he was totally non weight bearing and had fallen Twice in the past week. His wheel chair was never right and she did nothing to get one to fit him 2) he fell and laid for 45 minutes. The call button had no clamp and therefore wasn't within his reach ( I had requested this be fixed to 2 different people, finally calling maintenance myself and they immediately replaced it 3) Michelle an occupational therapist from Hastings came one time at my request to observe and I never heard back from her...3) the case manager came in on Wednesday and said he would be discharged on Saturday ( Rachel) , then she was off on that Thursday and Friday with no orders for care after he went home. They called a home care agency and that was the extent of aftercare. ( No doctors orders etc) We had requested if he could stay a week or two longer and the answer was " no" . ( As private pay). No bed available. A much longer story could be told, the care ladies work so hard and are always so apologetic ..just sad management drops the ball over and over. My main reason for this review is to let others know that this is NOT the place to go for post op care...thank you and take care

My mom was there and the staff was great and fun to be around. Always there to answer questions when I had them. The therapy department was wonderful and worked with my mom and got her back to where she needed to be so she could return back home. they just did new paint in the hallways looks amazing so refreshing and that way it sounds a lot more upgrading to become. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

I stayed there a few times for rehab to get stronger to be able to retune home. Rehab was just the greatest they helped me so much and answered any of my questions gave me thing to work on at home to. The staff was great and fun to be around made me feel at home and welcomed there like i was family to them and treated me with the higheat respet always had what i needed

Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island is a fabulous facility! The staff and residents are all super friendly and nice. The campus is gorgeous and when we were looking for a unique place for my daughters High-school Senior Pictures Good Sam was the perfect place. We were able to pick tons of locations throughout the campus and her pictures turned out beautifully. The entire campus is clean and is decorated wonderfully, from the new paint to all of the nice furniture and accommodations through the entire campus. We also found out that they rent a space for gatherings so we are planning on having her graduation party there this spring.

Update: When the patient moves facilities they kéep their medication. They refuse to send their medication. They do not follow Drs orders, time and time again. Facility staff do not give proper nutrition to the residence. Best advice I can give people is don't let your family members come here. If you want them to receive even decent care. issues that were brought to managements attention we're not addressed many times. There is 0 improvement. 0-.5 stars. 35 minutes to answer the call light. Maybe asking the patient what they need would be a good idea. Your facility has a covid warning, but staff enters the room and does not use the sanitizer at the door. Also med staff put pills in the residents mouth with no gloves or sanitizing their hands. Full urinals at the bedside, for hours after the resident has asked twice for it to be emptied, show the quality of care the residents receive. Maybe having the call light with the patient would be a good idea and not 8'+ away from them so they can't reach it. None of the issues written about before and brought to leadership havent been addressed. The same issues continue to happen.
