First and foremost, I would like to address several serious concerns regarding the care unit. In my experience, it is highly unusual for every door within such a facility to be locked, thereby restricting families from freely entering or exiting as needed. Typically, family members should have reasonable access to visit their loved ones without unnecessary barriers. Additionally, I have observed that visitors are often monitored via surveillance cameras—such as Ring cameras—for extended periods before anyone responds to grant entry into the facility. This practice not only creates an unwelcoming atmosphere but also raises questions about transparency and accessibility. More concerning, however, is the widespread mistreatment of residents within the facility. I have personally witnessed, and have been informed by others, instances where residents were not treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Such behavior is unacceptable in any care environment and warrants immediate attention. Furthermore, I must highlight the conduct of the assistant Director of Nursing (DON). Based on my observations, her interactions with both residents and family members have been consistently rude and unprofessional. This attitude undermines the trust and comfort that families expect when entrusting their loved ones to a care facility. Given these issues, I am committed to ensuring accountability. I intend to formally escalate these concerns to the appropriate regulatory authorities and advocate for a thorough investigation. If substantiated, I will pursue all necessary actions to ensure that those responsible—including the assistant DON—are held accountable, up to and including the revocation of professional licenses if warranted. It is imperative that all residents receive compassionate, respectful, and high-quality care. Families should feel confident that their loved ones are safe and well cared for. I urge the facility administration to address these matters promptly and transparently.
