Most reviewers describe Gold Country Senior Living as a warm, welcoming community with helpful staff and an easy move-in process, and several note the handrails and layout make it comfortable for residents with mobility needs. However, one detailed review raised serious concerns about food quality, a lengthy elevator shutdown affecting upper-floor residents, and a recent ownership change, painting a very different picture from the other reviews.

My daughters and I decided to look at places for me that were in and around Placerville. We had a few on our list and decided to look at Gold Country first. One of their staff took us and showed us all around the beautiful grounds and then the dinning area and lots of other areas, library, socializing rooms and then the apartments. They emphasize independent adult living, and they want you to feel like your apartment is your home. There was in no pressure. I had a lot of questions that were answered by telephone. We never made to the rest on our list as we decided this was perfect for me. Moving in, when I was ready, was as easy a signing a few papers and paying my deposit. I was handed the key so I could move in right away.

I stepped back in time. My Mother lived there in the 80's and loved Gold Country so much. I am looking for a home and went to GC and still amazing.... everything has changed to a beautiful update and staff is still amazing. If you are looking for an adult community where everyone goes above and beyond, then you will love Gould Country. Thank you Flora for the wonderful tour.

This is a very friendly and welcoming community. My apartment is comfortable and already feels like home. I enjoy having three meals a day that I don't have to prepare and I'm looking forward to participating in the social activities. I'm very happy that I moved here.

The food is horrible as you can see in the pic . Frozen food heated up and god knows what that dessert is ! I yelped them and they deleted my yelp figures ! There shutting their elevators down for seven weeks and telling the elderly to stay in their apartment and we will bring them food. This is a disaster just waiting to happen. They don’t care the elderly on the second and third floor are going to probably have anxiety attacks and try to go down the stairs by themselves and they are mostly have walkers or wheelchairs. Management doesn’t care they’re not setting up anything for people to go downstairs to the dining hall or to sit out and enjoy the weather. They’re very unprofessional and they don’t care. My mom has been there for two years and they sold it back in March to accompany in San Diego that has major lawsuits against them. It’s a shame because it’s in a great area. Please don’t move your mom or dad in here
