I was a patient at Gilroy Health Care the first time after my open ❤️ surgery in October of 2021. I was treated with compassion and respect. The experience was so positive and memorable that after my hip surgery March 2026, I asked for bed at Gilroy Health Care to Rehab/exercise and recover. The people at Gilroy Health Care are warm, compassionate really care about you and treat you with respect. It feels like a family ❣️ everyone is professional and helps you through out treatment. The food is good, morning 🌅, noon and night. You're given a monthly menu with food that you will enjoy also choices of alternate dietary food if you're allergic. It's a joy to wake up every morning knowing the food in your body helps you complete exercises necessary for your recovery. I'm a 79 yr old grandma and appreciate the attention and dedication I receive from all the staff to help me heal faster .

My mom was sitting in her wheelchair when I arrived, a plastic foot brace dangling from her sock. She hadn’t had a shower in six days. Her fingernails were long, and her left arm curled tightly in its brace. I sat on the edge of the bed beside her, gave her some snacks and a magazine, and started updating her about my life. She listened with a smile and enthusiasm, my number 1 cheerleader in spite of her stroke which left her paralyzed, and with cognitive impairment in the range of vascular dementia. A few days ago, she told me she will start driving again soon. We had barely begun when three employees walked into the room together. One carried a clipboard and asked if I would discharge my mother. I checked their name tags and recognized Sonny, who had called my dad, Alma, who had called me months ago, and Brian, the administrator my dad had already asked to stop contacting our family. My mother is approved to live there, yet these employees continue to ask us questions about discharging her. The three of them stood shoulder to shoulder. Finally I turned and said, “I’m here to visit.” It’s already difficult enough to visit a paralyzed parent with cognitive decline who believes she’ll regain the life she once had. Brian suggested we have “a discussion” after my visit. If only these employees had the same tenacity when mother needs a shower, but their learning empathy and emotional intelligence might be more pressing. And while we’re on the subject of basics, even my dog’s veterinarian knocks before entering the room.

Such a perfect choice for rehab and aftercare- The reception staff was gracious, kind and efficient. Their attentiveness and reassurance created a sense of security and trust for my 98 year old mother-in-law, who had never required being in a facility before this visit. The entire staff we interacted with was exceptional. The facility clean and orderly. We are grateful.

In my opinion, the Gilroy Health Care and Rehab Center is one of the top health care facilities in Gilroy. As a Mobile Notary Public, I provide mobile notary services to patients at this facility. Based on my experiences and interactions with the staff, I have found them to be very attentive and genuinely caring towards their patients. They are always friendly, smiling, and looking for ways to improve their service. My interactions with the staff have been equally positive. They are always willing to assist me in locating patients so that I can perform the notarizations effectively. Another plus of this facility is the ample parking space available. Although it can get busy at times, I have always been able to find parking during my visits. I look forward to assisting the Gilroy Health Care and Rehab Center and its patients! This is a beautiful skilled nursing facility, they have very competent kind and caring personnel who look after people with multiple different problems. I myself was a patient for 15 days a few years back, and since the new management has taken over and remodeled the place, I have noticed 100% improvement all the way across the board. I’m thankful that my brother-in-law is in such good hands.
