What Families Think

An automated summary of family reviews and public information. Not verified by MyLivingChoice; confirm services, staffing and pricing with the community.

Most families describe Generations Memory Care as a warm, small-house community where long-term residents have received attentive, compassionate care for years, and where staff often build close relationships with both residents and their families. However, a handful of reviewers report serious problems—unresponsive management, billing and refund delays, high staff turnover, and in one case allegations of neglect and unsafe medication storage—that stand in sharp contrast to the many positive experiences.

What reviewers praise

  • Staff build long-term, affectionate relationships with residents
  • Homey feel from small three-house layout
  • Coordinated closely with hospice during end-of-life care
  • Family communication via photos and regular updates
  • Offers short-term respite stays for caregivers
  • Management described as responsive to family feedback

What reviewers flag

  • Several reports of unresponsive management and poor communication
  • One serious report of neglect, dirty rooms, unlocked medications
  • One report of high staff turnover and undertrained young staff

Generations Memory Care definitely needs to work on their communication responses. That said, I want to recognize Carla, one of the staff there. She is a very genuine, caring person. She plans the activities at the facility and I love seeing pictures posted of my husband enjoying those activities ☺️

We moved our mom from Washington State to Generations due to better pricing for her. During her short time there before her passing the care was good. When she had to be transported to the hospital very little paperwork was sent with her, insurance & many more important pieces of information. Since her passing we have needed to pass on financial requirements the billing department to to handle. Daily messages were left for a return call, none received, this went on for 1 1/2 months, finally I connected with someone & required paperwork was done. But due to no communication done in a timely manner the paperwork sent has been rejected! So once again I am leaving daily messages to advise of new instructions, no return call again. This lack of professionalism and concern during this difficult time for the family has created another burden on top of our loved ones passing. This is unacceptable !! ***UPDATE 3/24/2026*** AS OF THIS UPDATE NOTHING HAS BEEN RESOLVED!! MANY EMAILS VOICEMAILS LEFT. I RECEIVED AN EMAIL STATING CHECK MAILED 3/5/26 NEVER RECEIVED!! CANNOT GET STATUS OF WHEN REFUND WILL BE SENT. HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY ASSISTANCE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR! OFFICE MANAGER RACHEL CAMPBELL REPEATEDLY STATES AWAITING REPLIES FROM HOME OFFICE, MESSAGE LEFT ON VOICEMAILS THERE AS WELL. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE MOM PASSED AWAY IN JANUARY!! HORRIBLE SERVICE CONCERNING RENT REFUND DON’T BELIEVE OWNER RESPONSE!!

I drove from Nine Mile in Spokane to tour this place with my de mom. We show up and are told the gal giving tours had an emergency and asked us to reschedule. We didn't. 4 months later we get a call and agreed to set up another tour. Got to Rathdrum early so we had lunch. The place was busy and by the time our food arrived we had to eat fast to make our appointment to tour. As we're finishing eating with 20 minutes to pay tab and get to the facilty the gal called... had yet another emergency and had to cancel the tour. The emergency... someone getting released from hospital in a few days and have to get ready for them to return to facility. Nope... reg flags!! The 1st impression is supposed to be the best. They hire expert salespeople to sell you on the place. This gal (Bri) works from home with kids in the background. She didn't want to leave her house in the pouring rain to get to the appointment she scheduled. If they can't do the salespitch right than I'm thinking the care isn't going to be good! I wouldn't move my loved one into this place!!
