My mom was sent to French Prairie Nursing & Rehabilitation Center to regain strength and mobility after an accident. Unfortunately, getting even basic care has been a constant struggle. She has used her call light asking for basic needs such as a shower and clean clothes and has gone hours without anyone coming to help.

When she calls me because she cannot get assistance, I try calling the facility myself and often cannot get anyone to answer the phone. My wife has then had to drive to the facility in person just to get someone to address my mom’s needs, only to be met with rude and dismissive behavior from staff.

These are not unreasonable requests. A patient in a rehabilitation facility should not have to repeatedly beg for basic hygiene and care, and family members should not have to drive to the facility because call lights and phone calls are being ignored.

After reading other reviews describing similar experiences, I am extremely concerned that this may be a larger, ongoing problem. Families trust these facilities to care for people who cannot fully care for themselves. They deserve better.

#class action

We're there to recover from a stroke. It was abusive and they belittled me and talked down to me, did not like it at all period it was more like punishment than rehab.

Dad was sent there post surgery to avoid infection. 6 days later we finally got him out and he had a yeast infection! They never changed his clothes, never let him shower, rarely got him out of bed to walk, didn’t give his medication on schedule and often didn’t respond when called.
3 of the 4 hallways smelled of urine and he says the food sucked. Short staffed due to Thanksgiving weekend they said. No doctor all weekend? Just general staff members. Never saw anyone resembling management. People’s health issues don’t go on holiday!
When we wanted to get him out on day 2 they said they couldn’t release his meds and insurance might not pay. What a farce.
This place should not be in business.
