My mom was at Forest Haven. She was well taken care of. They made sure she was invited to all of the fun activities and the CNA and nursing staff cared for her like she was their family.

Most reviewers describe Forest Haven as a warm, family-like nursing and rehab facility where staff know residents by name and provide attentive, compassionate care, especially during rehab stays and end-of-life care. However, one detailed and serious review alleges neglect, unsanitary conditions, understaffing, and misleading tours, standing in sharp contrast to the otherwise positive feedback.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our family is deeply grateful for the incredible care our aunt received at Forest Haven. From the moment she arrived, she was treated with compassion, dignity, and kindness by every member of the staff. The facility provided not only excellent medical care—ensuring all of her needs were met on-site or through transport to specialists when needed—but also created an environment that truly felt like home. The therapy services were outstanding and tailored to her specific needs, helping her maintain as much independence and comfort as possible. She enjoyed a wide array of activities and outings that kept her engaged and brought her genuine joy. The holiday season at Forest Haven, especially Christmas, was nothing short of magical—with decorations, events, and community involvement that made everyone feel included and celebrated. What stood out most was the way the staff cared for her as a person, not just a resident. They took the time to know her, laugh with her, and be there for her in both little and big ways. Even in her final days, they were attentive, supportive, and respectful, giving our family peace during a difficult time. Forest Haven will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was more than a facility—it was a community that made a difference in our aunt’s life and in ours.

My Mother insisted she was only going to Forest Haven for TWO WEEKS to complete her rehab after a lengthy hospital stay. Mother is extremely hard of hearing with very limited eyesight. My siblings and I were very concerned about her being home alone at nights and on weekends when her caregiver was off. She was determined to go back home asap. The administration and staff were unbelievable in working with us to make Mother’s stay as easy as possible. Once there, Mother decided that she was where God wanted her to be! She found new purpose for living at the age of 83. The staff there is amazing and treats everyone with kindness, dignity, and compassion. The staff at Forest Haven are now part of our family. After many sleepless nights and worry, I know that Forest Haven is just that a “Haven” for our loving Mother! Thank you to all of the staff that make this special place more like HOME!

I recently visited my grandmother at her nursing home, and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall atmosphere. The staff was genuinely kind and attentive, which made a huge difference. They seemed to know all the residents by name and went out of their way to engage with them. The facility itself was clean and well-kept, with plenty of natural light coming in through the windows, which created a warm and inviting feel. I noticed that there were lots of activities planned for the residents, from games to arts and crafts, which is great to see since it helps keep everyone active and involved. My grandmother spoke highly of the food, saying it was tasty and offered a good variety. I had a chance to join her for lunch, and everything looked very appetizing. We even had a nice chat with a couple of her friends there, which made her smile. Overall, I feel relieved knowing she is in a caring environment where she is looked after. If you're considering a place for a loved one, I would definitely recommend checking this nursing home out. It seems like a great place for residents to feel at home.

A Deeply Disappointing and Concerning Place for Your Loved Ones From what I’ve witnessed firsthand, this is not a place I would ever recommend for anyone’s family member. The standard of care is shockingly poor, and what they present to outsiders is far from the reality. Lack of Proper Care and Attention: The rooms are often only half-cleaned, and many residents are left in their beds all day. The only interaction they receive is when their diapers are changed—and even that doesn’t happen regularly. Their clothes are not changed often, and personal hygiene is clearly neglected. I’ve spoken with residents who have told me they feel like they’re in jail. Unprofessional and Uncaring Staff: Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are rarely available when needed. Many of them can be found hiding in residents’ rooms or bathhouses, often on their phones instead of doing their jobs. It’s clear that some of them simply don’t have the heart or compassion to care for the people living here. Toxic Management and Poor Leadership: Management is immature and unprofessional. If they take a personal dislike to you for any reason, they will go out of their way to push you out. They make promises just to save face but often do the exact opposite behind closed doors. Instead of addressing real problems, they apply temporary “band-aid” solutions to make things look good on paper. Manipulated Appearances and Misleading Tours: The facility spends money on unnecessary props to make the place look better for tours and promotional photos—all of which are staged. Meanwhile, that money could be used to improve the lives of the residents. During tours, you’re shown a version of the facility that simply isn’t real. Resident Neglect and Poor Quality of Life: Most residents are confined to their rooms and left to watch TV all day. Those who are more mobile often wander from room to room, crying and begging to leave. It’s heartbreaking. The food is another major issue—most of it is heavily processed, which is especially concerning considering many residents are diabetic. Final Thoughts: If you’re considering this place for your loved one, I strongly urge you to take a closer look—perhaps even take a part-time job there to see how things really operate. Residents deserve dignity, respect, and care. Unfortunately, in this facility, they are treated more like a source of income than human beings.
