What Families Think

Reviews of Family Resource Home Care are sharply split: several caregivers describe a supportive employer that treats staff and clients well, while two family members report serious, unresolved safety incidents with in-home caregivers. Because it's a home health and hospice provider rather than a residential community, care quality depends heavily on which caregiver is assigned to a case.

The Good

  • Caregivers describe supportive, communicative management
  • One caregiver singled out for exceptional client care
  • Staff say company treats employees like family

The Bad

  • Multiple reports of caregivers not showing up without notice
  • One report of caregiver sleeping during a medical emergency
  • One report of caregiver leaving mid-shift unattended
  • Reports of inconsistent follow-up after safety concerns were raised

Words can express how amazing family resource home care is to work for everybody is so helpful and so inviting on wanting to help their employees out they don’t make you feel like you’re below them. Everyone feels like family there. I would highly recommend anybody looking to get into home care to consider family resource.

Great facility great management. They look out for there caregivers and the clients.my caregiver, Samantha Machado goes above and beyond to care for her clients. One a scale of 1-10 I would give her a 15. She is the best caregiver I have ever had!

We are sharing our experience so other families can make informed decisions. Our family has had ongoing concerns with caregiver reliability and communication. There have been multiple occasions where coverage was confirmed, but no caregiver showed up, and we were not notified in advance. This left our medically vulnerable family member without care and created urgent and stressful situations. In one instance, which I personally witnessed, a caregiver left during a scheduled shift saying they were going to the gas station and never returned. This resulted in our family member being left without care unexpectedly. These concerns were reported; however, follow-up and communication from the agency have been inconsistent. The lack of reliable coverage and communication has caused significant stress and anxiety for both our loved one and our family. We recommend that families ask very clear questions about backup coverage, supervision, and communication before choosing this agency.

I’m sharing this so other families can make informed decisions. Our experience raised serious concerns about this agency’s ability to provide reliable and safe care. There were multiple times where coverage was confirmed, but no caregiver showed up—with no notice, leaving my medically vulnerable mother without care and family scrambling to ensure our mother safety. More concerning were the safety issues: a caregiver was sleeping while my mother was experiencing low blood sugar, and that same caregiver later walked out mid-shift during another low blood sugar episode, leaving her without assistance. Another caregiver left saying she was going to the gas station and never returned, and another brought her boyfriend into the home for 3–4 hours during her shift. We also had a caregiver ask my mother for gas money and pain medication, which we reported—but it was never followed up on. There have also been ongoing challenges with communication, documentation, and getting clear follow-up on incidents. This has been stressful for our family and has impacted my mother’s sense of safety and stability. Before trusting this agency with your loved one’s care, get clear, written guarantees on coverage, supervision, and communication—because when those fail, it’s your loved one who pays the price.

As a caregiver of this company, I have loved working for them! I love the diverse communication options, my clients and my bosses. I’ve been here a year and a half, they have shown me grace and listened to my concerns. Would 100% recommend working for/getting care through Family Resource Tri Cities branch!
