This place is very under staffed and do not provide adequate care to the patients. Place also needs to be renovated and is not clean. Medicare needs to cut payments to them and the state needs to go there and investigate. Do not sent your loved one there.

My mom was taken care of better here than any other nursing home/rehab she has ever been in before. The staff was very caring, thorough, and communicative with us. The only downside is the rooms are very small with no chair for visitors.

If I could give this awful place negative stars I would. So instead, I leave a truthful and scathing review. The staff are woefully inept at looking around and ascertaining patients needs and wants. It is utterly filthy and smelly. Yes. I realize even the best of nursing homes/ rehabilitation centers have the all common patient odor. This goes beyond that! Way beyond that. The staff are rude, incompetent, and have a cavalier attitude to anything pertaining to ANYTHING, but more importantly, to patient care and their dignity. If I had a choice to recover at this facility or go home to die, I’d choose the latter!

I was sent here for physical therapy on April 22 by ambulance transportation. I had to visit the restroom immediately so I asked the nurse for a walker and she told me they didn't have any. (You would think for a rehab facility they would at least have a walker.) The patient on the side of me had a walker on the side of her bed so the nurse asked her if I could use it as well as I also asked her if I could use it to go to the bathroom. I noticed the nurse put on a pair of gloves and hand me the Walker, no she did not wipe it down before she gave it to me. I still really had to go to the bathroom so I just grabbed the Walker and walked my way to the bathroom. Once I was finished I went to grab the Walker and realized it had dried feces on the handles of the Walker I had borrowed. I did take pictures of it and I wrapped a ton of paper towels around it so I could get back to my bed. Once I got back to my bed I texted my husband to come and pick me up. I wasn't there more than an hour before he came to pick me up. I checked myself out and came home. This place was totally disgusting! The nurse should have washed that Walker down before even BEFORE giving it to me whether it had anything on it or not. On my way out in a wheelchair I noticed all the railings were just as gross, and filthy! No, I wasn't expecting to go to the Sheridan Tara for rehab but I was expecting the place to be clean. I've worked for hospital cleaning and doctor's office cleaning and adult daycare cleaning for over 10 years and maybe I'm just a perfectionist but I used to clean railings, Staircases, elevators bathroom door handles , the back of the chairs All places that people don't think of hide the most germs . I've cleaned everything to make sure that all the people that have to be in there should be safe from germs as much as possible! I really wish this place could get a thorough cleaning by a professional cleaning company, the patients DESERVE it!

This facility is not appropriate for long-term care unless you are desperate. The nursing staff is well-intended but lack the appropriate resources to be effective. The patient furniture is extremely old, broken, and the common areas need attention to include their shower rooms water pressure is warm and the fixtures are old too. In addition, the owners should be fined and forced to update the building. The facility blue collar staff is predominantly non-English speaking such as janitorial and laundry staff which occasionally leads to underlying confusion. I noticed a lack of empathy from numerous professional staff members and overturn of rehiring Social Worker's and physical therapist. Much improvement is needed but in due time I am confident it will happen with guidance from the Department of Health and Human Services inspections.
