I am profoundly grateful to every single person who wore a mask at Equinox Terrace--that is, every single staff member, whose exceedingly high level of competence was matched by their extraordinary compassion. My mother felt at ease and welcomed. The receptionist, custodian, aides, servers, nurses, staff assistants, activities staff... everybody. The food was exceedingly good, and my mother's pescaterian diet was graciously accommodated. I cannot praise the executive director highly enough! Ann Bouza's leadership is friendly and steady --she emails regular bulletins to the family, and in the time of Covid, it is especially important to know what's going on, what events are planned, what safeguards are in place...and it's just nice to have that communication!. Ann's standard of professionalism and cheerfulness pervades the entire building. Each staff person has discrete responsibilities, so there's no question of who does what. (I was a designated caregiver, and was there every day--I saw first-hand how the place operated, and was so impressed! There was no whiff of the negativity that can so often beset a workplace. These are dedicated people, responding to a calling.) There are monthly meetings where residents can make suggestions for change or improvement. It really is all about the comfort and wellbeing of the residents. They are lovingly cared for, and they care for each other--such is the ambiance at Equinox Terrace.

My mom is well cared for, socially active, and happy at Equinox Terrace. I can’t imagine her anywhere else at this point in her life. Management and staff have done a remarkable job during the pandemic, and they are wonderful about communicating with family members about any updates. My mom is in very good hands!
