About Enhabit Hospice

Enhabit Hospice is a Medicare-certified home health agency serving Troy, AL and has been Medicare certified since 2002. Services offered in the home include skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services and home health aide visits. The agency is privately owned.

Medicare rates the quality of patient care at Enhabit Hospice 4.0 out of 5 stars, based on how quickly care starts, how often patients improve at walking, bathing and managing medications, and how often they are readmitted to the hospital.

Home health is short-term, doctor-ordered clinical care at home, typically after a hospital stay or during recovery, and Medicare covers it in full when the patient qualifies. Families who need ongoing help with daily living, such as bathing, meals and companionship, should also compare non-medical home care agencies nearby.

My mother’s hospice journey began in the early months of 2021, with a team of health care professionals from Encompass Health Hospice in Troy, and continued until she passed away in August. This group of individuals included a doctor, nurses, home health aides, social workers, a pastor, support services personnel, and volunteers. A five star review is not nearly enough to adequately rate these people and the services they provided. Every individual was always patient, kind, and professional. The care and compassion displayed by this hospice team was absolutely outstanding. They are an exceptional group and very deserving of recognition for their sensitivity and goodness. I cannot say enough about how wonderful each and every member treated and cared for my mother. Encompass Health Hospice in Troy was a godsend for my mother and I and words cannot express the heartfelt gratitude I have for this extraordinary group of health care professionals. “Thank you” I will be forever grateful to each of you!
