Today Nurse “Stephanie” and OT Cory came to evaluate my mother. They were kind, thorough and supportive. We were very pleased with how they handled the visit.

My mom got out of rehab on 8-14-20 and is SUPPOSED to be receiving visits at least 1x a week each from a nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist. The day (Saturday) after she came the nurse came out to do her evaluation. Monday the PT and OT came out to do their evaluation and I was told the speech therapist was scheduled for Wednesday. On Wednesday the the nurse came out for the weekly visit and I let her know I still hadn't heard from the speech therapist. I was then told we were on the schedule for Fri. Thursday the OT came out for therapy. PT has not been back for therapy and we've yet to hear anything from the speech therapist. I call the office and a message is left for the nurse on-call. She proceeded to tell me what days the therapists are scheduled for next week but that means nothing since I now know that doesn't mean they'll actually show up. Very disappointed that after suffering from a stroke and being home for 8 days now my Mom had received almost no therapy. On top of that they don't seem to be the least bit concerned that the patients aren't receiving their much needed therapy.

Yes. Enhabit Home Health is a Medicare-certified home health agency, so Medicare Part A or Part B pays in full for skilled nursing, therapy and home health aide visits when a doctor orders them and the patient is homebound. There is no copay for covered home health visits.
For Medicare to pay, yes: a doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant must certify that care is needed and sign a plan of care. Families can call the agency first, and the agency will usually contact the doctor to arrange the order. Ongoing help with bathing, meals and companionship is a different service, non-medical home care, which needs no referral.
