BE AWARE !!! I want to share my experience to help others make an informed decision for their loved ones. While many of the staff at this facility are very kind and professional, I was extremely concerned about some aspects of care, particularly involving one doctor and certain protocols. Firstly, the doctor (the main Doctor ) was cold and unempathetic in his interactions with my father-in-law during his final days. The way he delivered critical information in front of him lacked compassion and gentleness, which was very distressing for our family. I would advise anyone considering this facility to be aware of this doctor’s approach. He is not gentle when he was checking my debilitating father-in-law. Very rough. Secondly, the facility follows a strict protocol of giving 10 mg of melatonin to all residents at night. My family and I experienced significant side effects from a much lower dosage—nightmares, feeling “off,” and a sense of depression that was unusual for us. My father-in-law also reported feeling similar negative effects. When I raised concerns with the nursing staff, they insisted on following the protocol, despite our objections. This blanket approach to sleep aids may not be appropriate for everyone, and I strongly caution families to monitor or question the use of melatonin or other medications. In summary: • Staff are generally nice, but protocols may override individual patient needs. • Be cautious of the doctor who demonstrated a lack of empathy and sensitivity. • The standard 10 mg melatonin dosage may have adverse effects, especially for older adults. Families should carefully observe how treatments are administered and advocate for their loved ones’ comfort and well-being.

As an outside vendor, we work with quite a few Skilled Nursing Facilities. The Leadership Team that runs this facility continues to be very patient-centred in their approach which is what you would like to see. They will not sugar coat or beat around the bush if a community partner is not keeping up to their standards of care. Attending care conferences demonstrate the collaborative spirit that makes a more holistic approach. I trust their nurses.

My mom spent four weeks at Encinitas Post Acute, and we are incredibly grateful for the rehab team. She arrived unable to walk, and by the time she was discharged, she was walking again and able to live independently. The PT team was supportive, motivating, and truly invested in her recovery. Erika was especially great and consistently went above and beyond to make sure my mom felt encouraged and cared for. The OT team also made a huge difference. Tung and Briah helped her rebuild confidence with daily activities and were always kind, patient, and attentive. Speech therapy was also excellent, and it was clear the teams worked well together. Encinitas Post Acute made what could have been a very difficult time much more positive. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing rehabilitation care

My mother’s rehab experience was outstanding. The therapists were supportive, knowledgeable, and encouraging every step of the way. They tailored the exercises to her needs, pushed her safely, and helped teach me how to better care for her. The gym environment was positive and well-organized, making each session motivating. I’m truly grateful for their care of my mother and highly recommend their therapy services.

This facility has one of the best nursing staffs. The nurses are highly experienced and they are. Caring, compassionate and that shows in the way they take care of the patients who come into the facility. The administration is hands on in running the center. The director is a "hands on" director and calls people by their first name and pitches in and helps the nurses when needed. The physical therapy staff has some of the very best experienced physical therapists who really puts their hearts into getting back on their feet and moving. The cleaning staff keeps the center in a very neat and clean condition. The maintainence staff keeps everything running and working. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.i would not go to any other facility.
