We are writing to share our feedback and experience with Effingham Rehab and Healthcare Center. Our loved one entered the center in September 2022 (nearly 2 years ago). We have been very pleased with the love, service, and care that has been given. On our first visit to research homes, Micah, the center’s director, apologized that the flooring was in disarray due to in-progress remodeling. We told her we did not come to see her floors but her heart. We spent a good deal of time that day with Micah, and she showed us her heart. And she has showed us that same heart over the past 2 years. She is an amazing, wise young woman who truly loves the residents and her team. She runs a tight ship and she is not a desk-sitting executive. We always see her being so kind to the residents. One day an elderly gentleman was upset and crying. Micah got down on her knees on the floor in front of his wheelchair and spoke kindly to him and gave him a hug. Her love and care was clear. She calmed him. This love pervades the Center. Micah requires the same of her team. The team has made several recommendations and adjustments that have helped our loved one tremendously, both physically and emotionally. The team constantly communicates with us keeping us apprised of any activities or concerns. When you look for a home for your loved one, don’t look for the glitz of a brand new facility. Look into the eyes and hearts of the care givers. If you find a leader and a team who love and care for people, you have found a rare treasure. Micah and her team are that treasure. They continue to be for us. So for all the servants and care givers at Effingham Rehab, THANK YOU! You have one of the hardest jobs in the world. Caring for those who cannot care for themselves. As the Bible says, “the least of these”. We love you as you love those you are caring for. Fred & Lori

Worst place i have ever had family members at. Staff was very rude at times, they don't get you anywhere you want to be on time, administrator was rude, nurses are somewhat nice, but the food is terrible, they are very unsanitary, keeping bags of feces on the floor, not taking trash out daily, and not picking up after their messes. -10/10, do NOT recommend.
