I would not feel comfortable placing a family member at Edgewood. From what I have observed, the staff-to-resident ratio does not appear adequate, which creates significant safety concerns for vulnerable adults. When staff are consistently overworked, it increases the risk of burnout and decreases the level of attentive care residents deserve.<br><br>It seems that maintaining full occupancy is prioritized, even when staffing levels may not support the number of residents. This can create an institutional, warehouse-like environment rather than a safe, supportive home.<br><br>My heart genuinely goes out to both the employees that work on the floor and the residents. Staff appear stretched thin, and residents deserve attentive, consistent care. I strongly encourage families to thoroughly research, ask detailed questions about staffing ratios, and carefully observe the environment before making a decision.<br><br>Transparency and safety should always come before profit.

My mom moved in last October. She was lonely living alone at home. She was ready to come to Edgewood as she wanted to be around people. Since moving into Edgewood, she is involved in activities and thoroughly enjoys not having to cook, clean, and do her own laundry. She has made so many friends here and absolutely loves living here. She actually used to work at Edgewood as a dining assistant and knew that if she ever needed assisted living, this was the place!

This is a great place for your parents or loved ones. Staff is very caring, friendly, helpful.<br>Activities, food service, cleaning and laundry.<br>Even have providers on grounds so they don’t have to go outside. Saves time and comforting for the individual and family.<br>Highly recommend. 😊

My mother currently lives at Edgewood and is completely miserable. They keep her debit card and do not allow her to use it or buy anything. She is confined to a wheelchair, has dementia, and the staff take advantage of that. They never bring her outside for walks or to smoke. If you need a place for your loved one to stay I suggest going to Aurora, Eveleth, or basically anywhere else. This is more than a bad review about the food. Placing her here in her final years was the biggest mistake of my life.
