Dungeness Courte Memory Care

Dungeness Courte Memory Care is a memory care community located in Sequim, Washington, situated in the heart of the medical community minutes from downtown. The community specializes in dementia care and provides a family home-like setting designed specifically to enhance the lives of individuals with memory loss.

The facility offers comprehensive assistance with activities of daily living including grooming, dressing, bathing, and eating. Residents receive home-cooked meals three times daily prepared with fresh ingredients and planned by a licensed dietician for the memory care population. Laundry and housekeeping services are included at no extra charge. Additional services include a variety of socialization activities, a fitness and restorative program designed to maintain mobility and independence, and daycare and respite care available hourly or overnight seven days a week when available.

The building was uniquely designed with features to support residents with dementia, including a continual loop hallway both inside and out that allows residents to wander freely. A secured courtyard features walking paths, fruit trees, gardens, and seating areas. Throughout the facility, handrails and wide hallways accommodate residents through different stages of mobility challenges. Each resident room includes a private bathroom with a spacious shower, and residents are encouraged to personalize their living spaces with favorite pictures and furnishings that reflect their individual taste.

The community provides substantial support and education for families and the broader community. Quarterly public workshops help people understand dementia, and a resource library includes pamphlets, educational videos, and survival guides. Family support groups meet the second Friday of each month, providing an informative and mutually supportive atmosphere for those caring for individuals with memory loss.
