Helia Healthcare is making drastic improvements. A lot of reviews have stated very bad things that happened years ago and there are not enough recent reviews to show how much this has changed. New management that ACT on concerns! A great team that works well together and even in the unfortunate cases of being short (as all healthcare facilities have been seeing in recent years). Nurses are knowledgeable both in practice and on individuals. CNAs have been great in providing care and really care about the residents. 24/7 respiratory on site and specializes in trach care! Wonderful therapy department! I have seen a lot of remodeling and new systems coming in!! If you have any concerns, the new administrator is always very helpful and is easy to talk to!

Helia of Salem is a wonderful place (nursing facility) to bring your loved one. Under new management everyone is taken care of properly. Helia is a clean safe and fun environment. The nurses, aides, cooks, maintenance, cleaning people are extremely nice. Residents enjoy playing bingo, cookouts playing parachute which they really enjoy. Ladies get their nails done by a very sweet lady. Sundays provide church and trivia which is a favorite among the residents. Helia is under new management by a lady who is very kind she addresses any issues very quickly. She cares very much about the residents making sure everyone is well taken care of. Therapy is here too which helps a lot. All in all bring your loved ones to Helia. Where they get excellent care.

My mother is on a ventilator so unfortunately this was one of the only facilities to be able to "care" for her. She rang the call light to be put in bed and and 3 different people came in over 2 hours time to tell her to wait longer. She was brought lunch and it was a burger and beans, no cheese, nothing but plain dry meat and bread. My mother cant see and they just sat her food down in front of her and promptly left the room. Asked months ago for her to see an optometrist, she hasn't. This place is an absolute joke.
