I am a renter in a retirement community managed by Distinctive Living. I authorized the company to withdraw normal recurring monthly charges (mainly rent) from my checking account with the explicit stipulation that only current charges were to be withdrawn, nothing else. The very first month of this authorization, the company attempted to withdraw an extra $5919.25 which I had long contested as nothing but their accounting error which they never attempted to authenticate. Insufficient funds prevented this fraudulent raid on my funds. Since the event the company has failed to acknowledge or apologize for this outrage.
