My auntie was in destiny care home, and trust me, we didn't expect to have her for seven whole months. The doctors sent her home, saying we should make her comfortable. She was given two weeks the most. Because of the caring and loving staff, we got to share extra beautiful memories. Auntie Jean gets to celebrate her 91 birthday. Thank you, Winsome and Monique, for being awesome. 👌

If you love your family member please do not bring them to this facility. My father only lasted 13 days there. Within the first week of being there he had a fall due to not being supervised and had a severe head injury leading to him needing to be rushed to the emergency room. Within that same week he developed a terrible UTI with six different bacterias because they do not clean or wash their residents properly. Each time I visited him I noticed and mention something to them but they swore they were properly bathing and washing him. This could not be further from the truth. He had developed psoriasis on his face not more than a few days after admission. It was also a severe laceration on his shin which they have no idea how it happened and could not explain. Let's start from the beginning. My father was living at a different group home down the street from my house where he did extremely well for over 7 months. We realize that he needed more help at night which that facility did not offer so we ended up locating Destiny Care home and set up a consultation. During that consultation we are very clear on what he needed during our 1.5 hour visit. They had explained that they had awake daytime and awake night time staff. This is absolutely not true. We come to find out after admitting him that the facility is ran by two daughters who are not there and their mother is the caretaker who lives in that home with other children and siblings who all sleep in the master bedroom along with a small dog that's constantly running around and barking. Did not find this out till later. The mother named Winsom started off very friendly at our initial conversation but this changed immediately after Dad was moved in. She was very condescending with the way she spoke had a terrible attitude always made it seem like she was right and you were wrong and I believe slightly abusive and very non-loving or caring per conversations I had with my father in private. How can one woman take care of everyone at the facility? It's not possible. They claimed they had other help but I never saw any other staff other than the mothers 20 year old who was barely ever there. My father had Parkinson's disease and they were giving a very clear explanation and list of his medications. During his 13 days at the facility somehow they did not give him one single pill of his Parkinson's meds which had him very disoriented and severely messed up the very good routine he was on from the previous facility. We did not find this out until after. We paid upfront full price for the month and I have been trying to reach out to Monique the owner of the facility and she refuses to answer my calls or respond to text messages. Basically taking our money and running with it. It's a shame that we try to take care of our parents and do the right thing for them only to bring them to a facility that advertises good care and professionalism and what you get from them is the opposite and your left picking up the pieces after. I would absolutely keep your family as far away from this facility as you possibly can. I can only pray that this facility gets shut down as soon as possible to prevent any further damage than they have already caused.
