Well my husband got in on a Wednesday he went in there for rehab for his knee surgery he can’t walk he has to be assisted he can’t not put any weight on that leg well after about 30 minutes he had to pee so I went to the front desk to ask for a pee container waited about 20 minutes no pee container so I went to the bathroom and there were 4 in there that still had pee in them so I got one of those rinsed it out and he used that about 25 minutes later I finally got a clean one .The bathroom was nasty I wouldn’t even use it .I asked my husband did he just want to com home he said he would give it one more day. so that night he called me. He said he had to go poop. He could not get nobody to the room to help so he had to slide out of the bed into the wheelchair and go to the bathroom itself. Remember, he has to be assisted but no assistance and then I talked to him the next morning he’s on CPAP machine. They did not hook that up when they finally came in to give him a little rehab they just had him to stand up and sit back down. That was it the next day. The lady did come in and give him a little walk in the room. She was really nice. Her name was Amanda by that time. We were ready to go home so we get him signed out. He called me last night. He said they didn’t bring my dinner.heI said they didn’t bring you any dinner he said no and he said something to one nurse nothing he said something to someone else nothing so finally at 9 o’clock last night a nurse brought him a snack potato chips and a oatmeal pie. No dinner I know sometimes they’re understaffed, but that was ridiculous. Wait 45 minutes for a urinal did not hook up. His oxygen machine did not give him dinner out and by the way he said he had to wait an hour for a glass of water. He has one kidney. He cannot hold his pee very long and he needs plenty of water so beware don’t send your loved ones there and I told my kid if I ever sent me to a nursing home I’ll come back and haunt them especially if it’s like that.review giving by his wife Cindy

My mom was there. Most of the nursing staff was not friendly at all, i know of a patient that had a soiled brief for serveral hours. I could speak to the ones in charge and things would be ok for that day but the very next night was terrible again. The day shift was ok but the night shift was not !!! My mom had a blood clot from surgery and had to go back to the hospital by ambulance and when she returned back to the rehab center she was supose to get a injection every 12 hours i. The stomach for that. Sometimes is was more than 12 hours in between. It was not a pleasant experience for my mom or any of her family

I can not express enough gratitude for the incredible care my Mother has received at Decatur Rehabilitation and Health Care since her admission 6 months ago. The Nurses, CNA’s, housekeeping, dietary staff, Activities and Administration have gone above and beyond to provide compassionate and Attentive and professional care not only for my Mom but other residents. I visit daily unannounced and see how the staff treats my Mom and other residents with dignity and respect. The environment is clean and odor free. There r 2 Nurses Practitioners that are always available and a wonderful therapy dog named Hazel. A Great activity staff that is always planning organized fun for the residents. Nutrition and food menus are great. There is also faith based services. I have peace of mind knowing that my Mom is safe and well fed and truly cared for!! THANK YOU DECATUR REHABILITATION AND HEALTH CARE FOR ALL YOU DO!!!

I met two of the best nurses in the world here! Heidi and JJ. No one likes therapy but I liked the therapist. They were competent and careful. Great experience!

From a cleanliness and managerial standpoint, this facility is second to none. Not only do they listen and care about your family and any concerns you may have, they actually take action if needed. I currently have both of my Moms there and am thankful for the care they both have received. Thanks to all of the staff from the front office to the daily care workers. Heidi, Sherry, Janice, Heather, Linda and all others have been exceptional. Communication is always the key to a happy relationship and the communication level at Decatur Rahab and Healthcare could not be better. Thanks for all you do!
