Dayspring is a lovely facility, and I’m so pleased with the care they’ve given my grandmother. She loves working with therapy team, who are so communicative and just all around joys to be around. I’ve been really impressed with how clean the building is when I’ve visited!! ☺️☺️

This is a terrible place they messed up my brother putting a catheter in wrong last week and we did not send him back also his roommate kept getting up and was not supposed to be walking by himself he fell and busted his head open and they said he will be fine after taking towels to the mans head because of all the bleeding they finally put a bandage on it, also most of the aides and some nurses was very rude

Dayspring has surpassed my expectations on care for my mom. Thank you so much Dayspring. Everyone from the doctors to the nurses to the aides, and especially the social workers are absolutely wonderful. Just the top, I could not have my mom in a better place, she’s extremely well cared for and I’m so grateful. Thank you!!

The therapists were fantastic, as was the receptionist/admin. However, our mother, despite being released from therapy, is still there. Despite written requests for her discharge by the family, after her successful therapy, nothing was done. (She is, of course, covered 100% by her insurance for unlimited days). Every possible delay and roadblock was put in our way. She had family coming from out of town for what may be their last visit, and knowing this, DaySpring still did not arrange for her discharge, even though she was cleared by both her assisted living and therapists at DaySpring to leave. Then, after multiple calls to Zan, the regional manager, I finally receieved a call back....letting me know that if mom is not out by Friday she has to self-pay to stay. The general care for residents is so lacking that it broke our hearts. We would never, ever, make this choice again. Mom spent hours sitting in a wheelchair by the nursing station, no shoes, because she was a fall risk. She was in the same clothes for 3 days and slept in them one night. She requires oxygen at night and I had to call repeatedly at night to get someone to turn it on for her, as she has dementia. The nurses in the longterm wing always did it, because the rehab side did not answer the phone. In a nutshell, the aides and therapists are 5 stars, but the lack of empathy and concern for the humanity of the residents is truly disheartening. When we refused to follow their timeline to keep her in for additional days, we were told we could take her but she wouldn't have oxygen or meds because there just wasnt time (4 days now?)

If you care about your loved one, avoid this place at all cost! This facility should be held criminally negligent for its attempt to provide what it calls long term care. While their rehab program is very good, the LTC/skilled nursing side of things is awful! We had the unfortunate experience of having to keep my mom there for three months while we waited for a spot at Our Home across the street to come through. The food - if you can call it that - was disgusting. The “cooks” in the kitchen looked like high school students and everything on the plate was beige and appeared to be pre-packaged. Not a green vegetable to be found. With the exception of a few of the aides, the staff was horrendous. As my mother is a fall risk, they were supposed to do two-hour round the clock checks to take her to the bathroom and make sure she was generally ok. With the exception of the one of the overnight aides, that never happened. For a solid week I sat in my mom’s room from noon to 11 and no one ever came. Not even when we pressed the call button for someone to take my mom to the bathroom. I had to take her. If I hadn’t been there she would have soiled herself and lain in it for hours, which actually happened several times when we couldn’t be there. When my mom was showing clear symptoms of a UTI - the persistent need to urinate, with little to no void when she sat on the toilet, pain and severe confusion, they were reluctant to test her. If left untreated, UTI’s can kill seniors. I had to insist multiple times that they test. When they finally did the test came back positive. Lying in bed in soiled diapers for hours causes UTI’s. Because we could not trust them and were worried about our mother’s safety, we had to pay someone to sit in her room to take her to the bathroom when she needed to go because the aides rarely answered the call button. And when they did answer, they had major attitude about having to do the job they were paid to do. From the director down they lied to our faces over and over about our mother’s care. Over a month in, when mom’s legs and ankles filled with so much fluid they ballooned up like elephant legs, and we asked if they could increase her lasix to remove some of the excess fluid, the nurse on duty told us she was already on 80 milligrams, which is very high. That was a lie. For over a month they hadn’t been giving her ANY, which is why she was holding so much fluid. When we arranged to bring in hospice services to provide additional support (a dedicated aide and nurse, etc), all on her own, the Director called the service with whom we contracted and told them that we had changed our minds and wanted to explore other options. Bold face lie! Then the same director told us that Dayspring contracted with their own hospice services provider that we had to use if we wanted those services. Legally, in the state of Ohio, the patient has the right to choose their own hospice services provider even if that provider does not have a contract with the facility. The facility must offer a one-off contract to the provider the patient chooses. Dayspring flat out refused and kept telling the provider we chose that we had changed our minds. We had to threaten to contact the office of the Ombudsman before they changed their tune and begrudgingly allowed our choice. Can you say “kickbacks?” By the time we finally got her out of there and over to Our Home (So much better! So so much better) my mom was practically nonverbal and so sick with a bad cold and cough she could barely breathe or stand. We practically had to beg them to give her cough medicine so she could sleep. Also, in the three months my mother was in that hell hole, not a single doctor visited or assessed her in person. Not even when she was admitted. All medical decisions were made by the nurses who “relayed” messages to an offsite doctor who would then prescribe treatment and medication without ever physically examining our mother. Is that even legal?I cannot stress enough: Do NOT send your loved one here!
