If I had to pick a place to do rehab after surgery Long Prairie care center is the last place I would go. When I was looking after surgery I chose this place because it had a 4 star reading of which I do not know how they got that. I came on over Memorial weekend so it was a bare staff. I would lay there for 15 -45 ,minutes before my light was answered I had no tv and two straight back chairs. My bed , there was no hand control so I could not not control my bed. I would have to put my light on and wait. One person checked my surgery site only one time. One night the pain was really bad and I put my lite on and waited. I was trying to stay away from the narcotics so I took two Tylenol they gave me. Well, the pain was getting so intense I had to ask for the narcotic. I laid there for 1 hour, hitting my light and never did get it. The people who live here seem good. It is us short term people that they need to improve on. The PT is great and the staff but something definitely needs to be done about the management. I just over heard two people stating they got their medications late, like 10 PM. I have a whole list of things but waiting for over an hour for pain meds and never receiving it seemed to top it all.

Residents and staff should not have to live and work in a facility that has no air conditioning. It’s not only unhealthy for many residents that are on medications that can cause issues from heat. Also people that live there and pay to live there deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and should be able to live in comfortable conditions. I was told that It is Centracares responsibility to fix it and they just don’t??? This is not acceptable! Whoever is responsible for fixing this needs to get this taken care of. It’s currently 90 degrees out and they have no air😢🥵

Mom went here for rehab after a hospital visit. My first visit there was not what I had hoped but I let it slide because healthcare is a beast of its own. Staff shortage, expired licenses and no clear direction. The following weeks proved my feelings true. I wanted her out of there asap after the first visit and it became more dire in those following weeks. She had been in an out of the er and hospital several times during her stay which prevented her move closer to family. The last time I visited her in long prairie, she was almost lifeless in her room with her O2 sats tanking while people went on with their day. It was planned for her to move closer to family that day- and had been planned to do so. That did not happen. We almost lost her twice. Communication was poor and it seemed she was being kept in that state to assure her residence there. Once she was healthy enough to move, she did not return but instead was immediately moved by family. Her last day was on the 22nd yet I consistently get billed for the whole month despite telling them to send me a corrected statement. This has been now an issue for several months. Here’s my theory. If you send your loved one there, they will be sent there to die. She is now in a place where she is cared for and properly monitored. She is happier and safer and able to enjoy the remainder of her days. Please do your research before placing your loved one somewhere.
